By the time Hayden managed to get his shit together and decided to go to Hopscotch, it was almost closing time. I guess I have to see what this meeting shit's all about sooner or later... Oh well. He skated down the block and up the outdoor ramp, and arrived right at 7:00, as the meeting was slowly getting started. People were carrying in chairs from the porch as he arrived. One of them was the dark-haired girl from before. Yes! As the people started to shuffle back inside, Hayden noticed many of them starting to form a circle of sorts, and wondered if he should sit down and join them. Where u gonna sit fam A. The couch -- comfy, long, for some reason nobody's sitting on it B. A chair -- the seat of choice for most people. less comfortable C. The bar stools -- power move tbh D. The floor -- i dunno why you'd do this but it's an option |

Hayden decided to ball out and sit on the floor, moving a couple small tables to accommodate and leaning up against the couch. Several other kids followed his lead, abandoning other seats and sitting on the floor with him, and the dark-haired girl sat next to him on the couch. [To be continued later...] |

"Alright y'all. Let's do introductions," someone spoke. In a corner of the room, a group of kids continued to talk about how much they hated school. A couple of kids were still outside hanging out. The adult leader sighed. "Alright y'all. Let's do introductions," they repeated. "Does anyone have a question of the day?" Yea? A. Yea (something good but basic) B. Yea (something out-of-the-box) C. Yea (propose to the girl on spot) D. Nah |

Hayden thought for a while, then raised his hand. "If you were a cryptid, what cryptid would you be?" Most of the room stared blankly, though a couple of kids got excited looks in their eyes. (Though for the life of me, I can't remember what they actually said. I promise it was something really cool and interesting." Everyone went around the room introducing themselves by stating their name, pronouns, and their answer to the question of the day. Most weeks there was an alternate question offered, but with many of the group leaders and members out of town for a conference, there were only about half a dozen kids at the meeting, compared to the usual size of two, three, sometimes even four times that number. Additionally, only one adult was present, as even the #EmergencyAdult was not able to attend the meeting. As for Hayden, his answer to the question was melon heads, though not for their obvious intrigue, rather he was a fan of this particular cryptid due to its stature as one of the team names in Backyard Football, a game he had played much of his childhood. (To be continued... AKA i'm tired and don't have the motivation to write more) |
