see Mission Impossible, thats the sort of thing that's worth seeing in the theatre. the David Foster Wallace bio will be just as good on Redbox watched at home, right?

That's probably the way to go. Although instead of the regular theater that I frequent with the big IMAX screens, I'll be going someplace else.

But even still, I'll probably go mission impossible.

heyooo, I really liked Jurassic World

Though, I have to say my favorite movie this summer was Mad Max: Fury Road

I went in with super low expectations (I can't say I liked the original that much, though it may be worth a rewatch sometime soon), so I was blown away. Tom Hardy did a good job as Max, but Charlize Theron really stole the show. Immortan Joe was a wonderfully monomaniacal villain, Nux was a beautiful ineffectual sympathetic villain, and red-headed Riley Keough, oh me oh my. Maybe 10 minutes of the movie aren't spent on the car chase, and that was perfect. The practical effects shone and the choreography was wonderful.

Luv'd it <3

9/10

Inside Out was real good too, 9/10

Mad Max Fury Road is the best movie I've seen all year so far and it'll be tough to top. Great stunt work amazing characters and perfect action.

Haven't seen inside out yet though bc I'm a dolt.

I loved Jurassic World and Inside Out too. Great job on both of those.

Mad Max Fury Road - A+. Shaky at the start but OMG action scenes are the best in film, kickass women, great time overall.

Unbroken - A, stirring and incredible and finely acted and directed. So much WWII goodness out there in movie form

A Most Violent Year - B, well acted and a good story, just slow and defying expectations…it's not quite mafia, it's not a true story, and it's low on the violence scale, which makes the title seem odd. I mean, in a world where we have Expendables movies! Still good though.

The Theory of Everything A- - sweet and heartfelt look at a brilliant mind. Laughs, tears, the whole thing. Brilliant acting as well.

Fury A- - Brad Pitt was almost the same character as Aldo Raine from Inglorious Bastards, but I'll put up with him in two WWII roles I guess. The supporting cast shines bright and it gives some Private Ryan-worthy WWII sequences and thrills.

thought it got a little to hollywoodish towards the end of the movie. But I did enjoy it (like I do with WW2 stuff); probably would give it a B+

The Room- 0/10

However, it's actually pretty fun to watch. The acting and story is so bad, it's good. With dialogue like, "You're tearing me apart Lisa!" or "I got the results of the tests back, I definitely have breast cancer." Like the Nostalgia Critic said, it's worth checking out because it's so hilariously bad.

I'm interested to see it as well. Looks pretty good.

@gotwins: love the room. Read the book "The Disaster Artist" by Greg Sestero. Great book that doubles as a memoir and a behind the scenes look at the making of that movie.

Anyhoo

Double featured Adventureland and Wet Hot American Summer last night. Both are solid, easy to watch summer movies. Both set in the 80s. Adventureland is a romantic comedy that takes place at a theme park starring Jesse Eisenberg who is quickly becoming a favorite actor of mine. Also, anytime Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig share the screen, it's a real treat. 7.5/10

As for Wet Hot. Very funny. I can see why this movie became a cult hit. 8/10

After two movies set in the 80s, here is a movie that is set in the present, but is a total throwback to the 80s. It's rare that I go into watching a movie without at least having seen the trailer or knowing something about the production, but I'm really glad I didn't with this. It's one of the most unpredictable movies I've seen in a while. It's absurd, violent and ridiculously entertaining. I won't say much about the plot, but it is a thriller about a stranger who claims to be the close friend of a soldier who died and stays with the man's family. A good comparison to this movie would be Drive so if you liked that, then definitely give this a go. Great performance by Dan Stevens in the lead role btw.
8.5/10

Wet Hot American Summer is hilarious. I love comedies that parody themselves.

Have you seen the prequel series on Netflix yet? Watched the first episode, and it was pretty great.

If you have Netflix, I strongly recommend giving Nightcrawler a watch. Jake Gyllenhaal was amazing in this film.

I personally give it a 3.5/4 stars, if only because the ending disappointed me a little bit.
