Konami to close 31 mobile games in japan, only paid apps are being taken down.

If there's an english version of the game, it's staying put.

The line that I love the most in all of this.

"Currently, the company’s biggest revenue drivers in mobile (in Japan) are Powerful Pro Baseball and card collection game World Soccer Collection S, both of which are free-to-play."

They need to just translate it and release it over here.

Considering their troubles with personnel nowadays, I am not surprised by this news. However, for Power Pros to make sense in America, it needs to be based off of MLB, and not NPB. That's just my 2 cents.

The app actually isn't NPB-based at all. However, it is based on high school baseball (The Koshien), which is a much bigger deal in Japan than in America. Not to mention all the characters from previous JPPY games that are meant to play a big role but have never appeared outside of Japan.

But still, good to see Power Pros is enduring Konami's stupidity financial troubles.

Probably, but not definitely. If it's MLB, it's competing against a bunch of others with a longer history here in the states. If it's NPB...

1. It's a novelty that might boost sales
2. No MLB royalties, so fewer sales needed to turn a profit

Ditto to Zumi, it's entirely based on JPPY success mode (yep about Japanese high school baseball a.k.a Koshien) and of course the JPPY success mode characters. And yep it's nothing to do with MLB and NPB at all.

The characters sells that can help Konami's shitty financial problem (and the sorrow sound of people who dump their money over their favorite success mode character)

Hoping MGS5 The Phantom Pain can also sells well tho.

I don't think Konami has to worry about MGS V selling well heh
