From your narrator: I've been trying to figure out how to get this team into the MLB so I can play them against the updated rosters. Hope you guys like it, it's pretty absurd but it's as plausible a situation as I could dream up. Feb 21st, 2016. Alfonzo Brown was understandably excited with the progress his team had made over the winter. But he was now worried about all the MLB scouts that were showing up to his teams practices. Sensing that his roster was about to be purged again, he made a desperate phone call to an old friend. ... Sergey Brin and Alfonzo Brown had grown up on the same block in the same small town. When the former was facing bullying in the neighborhood, or at school, it was Alonzo who'd back his buddy up, no matter how many fists would be raised in his direction. When high school ended, Alfonzo set off to start a baseball career, and Sergey was well on his way to changing the world with his amazing innovative ideas for the computing world. ... Sergey Brin was gazing out at a 30 acre parcel of land adjacent to the Las Vegas strip, dreaming of unique casino designs, when his phone rang. When Sergey looked at his phone, he was delighted to see it was Alfonzo Brown on the line. "Fonzo!" he answered excitedly,"How are you old buddy?" "Serge, I'm doing ok, it's really good to hear your voice." "You sound stressed Fonzo, what's going on?" Alfonzo laid things out for Sergey, how he needed to figure out a way to keep this team together, how he'd been thinking about quitting his life on the road and settling down, finally asking his friend what he should do. Let the team get gutted once again and rebuild? Quit baseball? He was a man in need of good advice. Sergey had listened to his old friend, knowing that all the man knew was baseball, and how difficult it would be for him to move on. The team he'd been speaking so highly of intrigued Sergey, so he decided to come attend practice that very day. He hung up with Alonzo and was immediately heading out to board his private jet. ... That evening, Sergey laid out his plan. To Alfonzo it sounded crazy. To a man with monetary means like Sergey Brin, it's just a matter of talking to the right people. ... |

February 27th, 2016 Sergey ran into the Pirates training facility, looking for Alfonzo Brown. Alfonzo was soaking his aging knees in ice water, and reading with disbelief an article in the NY Times. MLB ANNOUNCES EXPANSION WILL HAPPEN IN 2016! NewYork, NY, In shocking news today, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has announced in an an unprecedented move that MLB would be expanding to 32 franchises. Sergey Brin, the young tech billionaire is the new owner of a franchise that will play in Las Vegas. In fact, the stadium, funded entirely with private money, was already under construction. A second franchise will be located in Monterrey, Mexico, and is said to be owned by Carlos Slim, the richest man in the world. "Alfonzo!, Did you see the news?" Said a jubilant Sergey. "Buddy, I...I don't know what to say, it's amazing" "I know, money talks, as they say. There are a few things to be done," ... 1. We need a new team name. There's already a Pirates, and we play in Las Vegas now. Please give me suggestions, and we will have a vote. 2. Next, and kind of tying into part one, we will have a chance to change up the uniforms. Submit examples, and we will vote. |

The Las Vegas Gamblers or The Las Vegas Mobsters or the Las Vegas Redskins or the Las Vegas Killer Bees(Killer Bee Mexicans Refers to the fact that like the insect, they too have been migrating out of Mexico into Texas.)
