Post subject:  New Members?

Now, I know this forum is crazy.
We've been hit hard by all of us and stupid stuff we've posted.
But this I say is a new low.
We've had other problems like RANGERS with LGN and his other alt and then his final ban because of his bans.
But this I say again is a new low.
The PP27 problems have brought up a controversy.
So what is the forum's future and that is what we have to figure out.
So let's have some philosophy.
We may have to give up some freedoms for new members for the PP27 stuff to go away.
But this brings me back to Congress and everyone has to get a voice.
Let's call this like terrorism and the terrorist group's name is PP27.
So how much does dish get as power or do we go to the power of a libertarian's government.
I know this is weird, but let's look at this.
We hopefully all agree that PP27 has to be dealt with while others like LGM and Brewers believe it's ok and it's fine. The same thing is like a Libertarian on terrorism, unless something crazy happens on this forum members will maybe care.
But we also can't be a warmonger and attack Iraq and take it over, because we're a community and we should've never gone in there anyway.
But anyway we have some options:
A. Admin accepts the user-
Dish makes the decision whether a member gets on, I don't like this, It discourages new members.
B. We could maybe just put guys off certain forums-
Ban them from Free-For-All, and well the Suggestion Box until they get like 20 posts. This doesn't exactly discourage new members, but it could be risky. but when you come on you can't see some forums anyway right?
C. Don't do anything-
This might be the worst and the best keeping it the same way it is, we have to keep this forum clean though.
D. A Forum Bill of Rights?
We don't have many rules and maybe we need to write them. When you register you agree to these rules.

Due to the events of the last week-plus, there will now be new rules and regulations for suspensions and bans on the forum. As approved by the majority of the forum community who voted on the proposal, these new rules will be implemented immediately:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. A 3-strike approach with forum behavior. Any of the following may be subject to a warning:
*Trolling
*Abuse
*Harassment toward other members
*Other miscellaneous conduct deemed inappropriate by either the forum community/community manager
-1a.After 2 warnings, the offender gets a suspension of 5-7 days. After 3, banned permanently. If offenses are severe enough, an auto-ban might be warranted.

2. Auto-bans are given out for making spam posts, akin to the kind we saw back in 2012-2013 with WoW Gold, boner pills, and the like.

3. If you are found to have a multiple account, that multiple account will get banned, and the original account (deemed as the earliest sign up date out of the accounts) will receive a warning.
-3a. If you are making a multiple account for legitimate reasons as deemed by the Community/Community Manager (i.e. forgetting a password to an old account), no warning will be given, but activity on the old account will be monitored closely.
--3a.1. If the old account comes back into fruition (as deemed by factors including, but not limited to, last user activity) with the new account, without proper explanation, the punishment from Rule 3 will be given immediately.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please keep these rules in mind as you converse in the forum. We like people having friendly discussion about this classic game, but please do not get too out of hand.

Thank you for visiting and using the MLB Power Pros Forums!

Do we need to add to this? I think with all of our problems lately we do. It's a laid back forum, and we barely actually talk about Power Pros, but we need more rules than this and most of them to my knowledge are not written like pictures in the chat.

I think any further rules, although unwritten (and current ones, unseen?) should just be understood.

They know who they are, they know what they're doing. And should they act like idiots, they'll be punished at Dish's discretion.

bottom line - Don't be an idiot, know what you're saying, it's not that hard

But I'm also not opposed to some kind of review system just to prevent this stuff. For now, let's just see what happens because I'm not expecting any other major flaming (unless LGM has another fit)
