Is there really a reason for this to have been implemented?

It's tiring when you have to say something short and it ends up being one character too short of the character limit. And it's a pain in the ass when replying to things like Zero's four player game, when you have nothing to input in other than the letter option.

I never saw posts to be too short in the first place, and basically anyone gets around the character limit by saying "stupid character limit" or something.

Could we just get rid of it?

The only reason the character limit was implemented in the first place, if I recall correctly, were those one word posts, like "ok" and "yeah" in topics that require a bit of discussion, that I explain not to do in the New Member Guide. It was a bit frowned upon in the community today and in the past, and the character limit pretty much has lowered the rate of these one word, meaningless posts. In my opinion, it has expanded the discussion a little bit. Sure it would be good to not have it in certain situations, but I think that if it wasn't there, those one word posts would come back to fruition in the other threads (such as the GCT), and wouldn't help discussion of the different topics all that much.

I know I've been screwed over by the character limit almost as much as you guys, but I think it's a necessary evil to have on the forum.

Except I don't think it adds extra discussion. If I see I'm below the character limit, I'm just gonna add random letters/words, or use the text size brackets

yeah I literally post the same exact way as I normally would, if my post is too short I just put [ size = 0][ /size] right after my post
