Everything is pretty much in that video or description.

Copypasta of what the description is:

--------------

First speedrun of MLBPP!

The program used to do the timer and splits is called livesplit.

Forgot to mention some of the rules in the video! You have to use a normal MLB ballpark and a normal MLB team. No custom teams, all star teams, or non-MLB stadiums. Oh yeah, if it wasn't obvious, you have to win.

How to join this:

If you have a capture card and a good computer, use them to get good recording footage like this. I use OBS to set up the recording stuff.

If you don't have a capture card, but have a pretty good computer, you COULD emulate this game and screen record it using OBS, however I suggest doing option 3 instead.

If you don't have a high-end computer, you can use a camera of some sort to record yourself playing this on the TV. Optionally, you can have a timer added in somehow if you want to go the extra mile, instead of having to count the time. (Added in post processing, or with a timer on your phone or whatever shown right as you start the game and as it ends, or whatever.)

------------------

So, what do you all think? What do you think about rules on DH/stadium usage? Please try this out yourself!

I got 14:25 on my first try, not recorded. I played as Yankees at home against Athletics

Regarding DH/stadium usage, I would say leave it up to the user. If they want more of a challenge, use a pitcher's park and no DH so they have to have the pitcher coming up every time through the order and it's harder to just knock a home run and intentionally get outs.

As far as teams, you can do the same. If you want less of a challenge, pick a stacked team that has not only great power hitter(s) but also a good defense and at least one ace-quality pitcher. If you want to really push it to the limit, pick a terrible team with no real star players. I think bending the rules to allow custom teams could be fine in this case -- how would a loaded team fare vs. a scrub team, and vice versa? how would a defense-oriented team do vs. an offense-based team?

I'm kind of tempted to try this with a team I made in success mode, everyone as all A's or B's for their defensive and running ratings. I'd like to try it with them, and see how it works out. I thought this idea sounded a little strange at first, but it's actually pretty cool!

Any thoughts on what would be the best park to use for the fastest time?

I would think maybe a huge pitcher's park to reduce scoring, as long as you have a couple sluggers who could hit one out even at 400 down the lines

So panpaka? I thought that too but it seems too easy to find gaps and get extra base hits there.

I am imagining a small ballpark would be best. You'd want to get a homerun on your first at bat, and then keep them scoreless.
Or hmm.. A big ballpark can be good, too, if you have fast outfielders. You might have to restart more to get the first batter homerun, but then there will be less chance of a homerun from the opposing team.

I think both of these just factor how quickly you could get an ideal time, not how much time the run would be. Either way the best way is winning 1-0 on one homerun.

Yeah, on second thought I think a tiny park like Wrigley or one of the Success stadiums (local/suburban) would work best. You'd have to have a team with a great groundball pitcher, though, to avoid giving up home runs to the other team.
