Some blue abilities are hard to quantify. I assume trash talk ability lowers a hitters power, but I can't tell whether it affects all batters, or how effective it is. Anyone else figure out how useful this ability is?

I've faced Pat Burrell and Jim Thome a lot and it sorta seems that they hit fewer HRs, but that could be in my head or due to things like better pitching. Ive got 2 catchers that are very similar except one has DD contact and power while the other is FE, but with the trash talk ability. So far, I'm using my FE catcher when facing teams with more than 3 B-power hitters and my DD catcher on other days and when playing in NL parks.

If you have the view set so that you pitch from behind the pitcher, you'll notice Trash Talk catchers will turn their head toward each batter that comes up.

It does seem as though "Trash talk" helps prevent HRS and extra base hits enough so that my catcher with that ability and FD contact/power is more helpful than my DD catcher without it. Certainly not a true scientific test, but it seems tHat balls that would just clear the fence die at the warning track and when I play a shallow outfield against F-power guys, they are less likely to split my outfielders

In this seasons draft, I picked up a catcher with trash talk and good catcher ability, and he has "throwing 4," that should all help make up for his level e arm strength, I hope. I'll train him up to a D and C at some point
