Now, if we could get the hex edits figured out, this will become a whole new-ish game.

That is correct, yes.

The answer I'd yes and no actually.
You can actually pack a wii save file into a .bin in dolphin. This may or may not work (and your mileage may vary), but it should work in theory. (But probably not) you would have to store the .bin on an SD card and it may work, but I can't be a hundred percent sure. I myself have not tried such an act, as A. I do not have an SD to usb adapter with me and B. I don't have rosters really done yet.
So the answer is:
Maybe?
Plus support is bad as I have not finished my own .bin (and it would have my other games on it) and no others have either. Getting Dolphin might as well be easier, bUT it could be.
Hopefully that kind of answers your question.

agentp and I started listing players on the rosters sometime around late september/very early october. and it took a little over a month to put stats in. To be more precise, it prolly took 2-3 hours per team. Sometimes longer than the aforementioned time slot because i like to go on youtube lol

Just an update;

I have been working on an editor as you guys know and had some breakthroughs, but not so much the editor but hex edits. This is more PS2 version, however, I have edited birthdates etc, having made a 9 year old pitcher on the Wii, which at the time was hillarious. The Wii though I am still working through deciphrering the hex code which is slightly different. Accidently though I found out how to get rid of old salaries and old stats. These edits were done on the ROM and not the game save itself. I changed a the player's ID number to F0 03 which was the next subsequent number after the last player in power pros. The game different to the amount of success mode players it will let you register for a season will actually let you have unlimited MLB life players. It actually bought the player up as an MLB Life player. On the default rosters if you use that player, their stats came up as zero for everything, but the salary remained. However, if you make an arrange team with that player involved, the computer generates a random (I say random but it seems it relates more to their stats) salary. I know it may be huge to find out how to edit individual salaries, but this may be as close as we can get as the data is very scattered within the ROM. I'll keep all posted of my progress with the Wii version as well.

Just to update. I have worked out the hex editing for birthdates and years experience, names for players, team IDs and changing players from regular, to edited, to success mode and to MLB life mode for ps2, I can hex edit the rom file, but the checksum is still causing issues in game save files. For ps2 I can have a roster out before the season starts, for Wii I’m not sure. I have begun looking at the Wii version which is very similar but different. So at the very least both ps2 and Wii versions can be ROM edited to play on emulators or for OPL for ps2
