Kinda weird since in reality there are more broken bats this year than last year.

I'm averaging at minm one broken bat a game. Had a 4 broken bat game last week (pitcher was Halladay). The number of broken bats is definitely up from last year.

Anyone else notice this?

*Shrug* 15 bats lasted me all season. Ended up with 6 left I believe. Course, it's hard to get a broken bat when most of my contact with the ball ends up going 450+ ft.

In my life mode they always claim you broke your bat. Even though you didn't. In other modes I didn't see any broken bats yet.

I've only ran out of bats twice, and I am in my third year of MLB Life : ) . You can just get them free from your sponsers(or atleast I can) so it hasn't affected me as of yet : ) .

I dunno, in my 2nd year alone I've ripped through about 20 bats. Maybe I'm using maple and need to switch back to ash.

Do you not watch Mythbusters? They proved that corked bats makes you hit the ball a lesser distance than regular bats by a lot.

In my last MLB Life season I went through the year with only breaking two or so bats!

(No I didn't bat like .001 or something like that, I think I ended the year at .345)

Maybe you should switch to maples. They break less and when they do, you can send the pitcher that broke it to the DL with "broken bat related injuries"

Truth. cork may let you swing "faster" with a lighter bat, but the cork absorbs the energy of the ball coming in, and thus it has less "pop" coming off of it.

Makes you wonder about how guys like Sammy Sosa and Albert Bell hit so many home runs. Oh wait... The juice.

I seem to go through phases where I break bats more often. It might actually be tied indirectly to motivation, since at low motivation levels the good contact area is smaller. With the smaller contact area you'd have more hits that weren't on the sweet spot, with more chance for breakage.

Just a thought.
