I was watching my Pale Hose yesterday, and looked at LF Carlos Quentin's batting stance. I tried to edit his stance in PP to be more accurate, but there's nothing close that I could find. That got me wondering: what other players have unique stances that IYO, should definitely be in the next game? I figured we could compile a list, and describe the form briefly.

Carlos Quentin: Crouching stance, similar to former Angels' star Tim Salmon, but he holds the bat overhead, and bounces at the knees.

Lance Berkman - kind of hunched over and then swings with a lot of arms like he's just raking at the ball. Somewhat similar to Pete Rose but with a lot more power.

ty cobb. Batt gripped with hands wide apart.

I love how El Duque's and Dontrelle's pitching forms can be depicted well without legs.

I think they should had facial structure, height, and width. Kevin Youk's protruding jaw, Prince Fielder's girth, and Tim Lincecum's height, or lack thereof.

Mike Mussina. I'd love to see him bend down before delivering. Adding some old players styles/records (Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, Lou Gherig, ECT.) would be great.

Yeah, I suggested somewhere along the way that they add the horizontal and vertical sliders you have for Mii creation in to the player appearance editor. Seems like a simple fix since the work has already been done by Nintendo, though to be fair if Konami lets people chnage the batter's height they'd have to implement a strike zone scaling algorithm to do it right.

I would like them to dig up Jeff Bagwell's old stance. It was god awful to look at but he made it work somehow.

I loved his stance. It was everything they teach you not to do.

They should also add a Juan Gonzalez stance.

I'd like to see Will Clark's swing as well. That was fun to watch.

I noticed a real lack of sweet lefty swings in the game. Will Clark's would be a good add good. Also, even though he did roids, Raphael Palmerio should be added. His swing was smooth and effortless. Maybe the roids made it effortless.

I agree. I'd pick Garret Anderson for my sweet lefty swing. A lot of the swings in this game come to a sudden stop during the follow through, so maybe that takes away the smoothness. Japanese Power Pros has bat flips when the ball is hit well so I wish they'd include that in the MLB PP 2008.

Yeah, that would be cool. That one cut screen, when you really get ahold of one and you watch it sail down the line, would be even better if you just kind of flipped the bat out and started "the trot".

What's the deal with the cutscenes, where the camera switches to behind the batter to watch one go out?
Is it only if it's definitely over, but down the line, giving the foul ball a possibility?
They never go that far, always in the 300's.

Sometimes they hook foul, but you got a nice cut scene. You are right, they never really go that far.
