No doubt about it. But if it wasn't for the stupid Rays, the Yankees could have a solid back-up, even with Posada injured - prospect Francisco Cervelli.

Molina probably the better defender, though, compared to anyone in the system - and compared to most in the entire MLB.

It runs in the family. The Molina's have cannons.

But come on, you gotta give it up for the Rays. Just 6 years ago the were on the short list for teams that should be contracted. Plus it's kind of nice to see a team with young talent do well.

Every loser's going to get their chance. It'd be pretty hard to screw up when you get 1000 consecutive top 3 picks. In addition to being able to draft prospects from other teams upon joining the league. I'm going to have to say, though, the Scott Kazmir and Carlos Pena acquisitions were genius. Imagine if the Yankees held on to Pena ... or the Mets held on to Kazmir.

Yankees nothing, Carlos Pena was yet another prospect that Texas gave up on rather than developing. Just the first basemen alone they have cut loose in the last few years - Pena, Adrian Gonzalez, Mark Teixeira (granted they traded Teixeira over Boras/signability issues).

Yeah, but the Yankees had him just a year before he broke out - the year they got 0 production from the 1B - Mientkiewicz, Phelps, Phillips, Giambi, Duncan (well, this one actually did pretty solid). The Rangers still had Teixeira then, and they a solid haul of prospects back. They also did extremely well with trading Gagne.

In my past research (aka "Googling") I've seen that they do make a guide for this game in Japanese, but I have no idea what level of detail it goes into.

For example: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-lz-49-en-70-2ftu.html

No idea if they'll come out with one in English though. Even if they do, most gamers are too cheap to buy strategy guides anyway :)

Haha, yep. That would be me.
Actually, Phillips did a fine job. I'm surprised he's not starting somewhere. If he did, even though he would have about a 270 average, he'd be in the top 5 for leaders in triples. I couldn't believe how many he hit. Plus, he was a good clutch hitter. If he wasn't 34, I'd be amazed if the Yanks didn't keep him up with the almost 300 average year he had last year. I still think they should have kept him anyway. It was his injury that stopped him from really making a solid case. He would have played in the play-offs.

It's kinda strange to me to make a strategy guide for a sports game. Don't get me wrong, Success Mode is pretty complex but I wouldn't want to buy a guide when I could find it on the net for free. Even with that I think its more fun to just go through it until you master it imo.

You can find just about any strategy guide on the net but I still buy some because I don't want to go to the computer every time I have a question.

Sometimes its worth the money. A strategy guide really came in handy for me when trying to accomplish every goal on the GTA games. As for Mlbpp, I would probably still buy the guide because I always have a lot of simple questions.
