I preordered this at the local Gamestop and they had the date as 9/1/08. I hope that is not the case. I really want to take this game with me to the beach and play it with my brother. Both of us are big baseball fans.

Yeah, gamefaqs also says that it comes out september 2008. But I can't complain about the ps2 version price only $20...I feel bad for the wii people, they have to pay double that.

It's still saying July 29 on IGN and Wikipedia. Though, I can't ignore the Sept. 1st date especially since there's no box picture anywhere. I mean IGN usually has a box picture this close to the release. I find it strange that they don't have one yet.

While thats on, why not have stadium fights/brawls, ejections, manager-arguing, intentional HBP, and batters dying after getting beaned in the head with a 105 fastball?
I'd like brawls/ejections.

The game is supposed to appeal to the better aspects of Baseball and they try to keep it as family friendly as possible or they couldn't keep the E rating

They don't want to encourage violence

At least in the American version. We missed out on the characters dying in car accidents and stuff that they've had in the Japanese PP games.

If I wanted death in a videogame, I'll play Halo or something.

I went to go preorder this today at Gamestop and the girl tried to tell me it came out a few days ago but they aren't scheduled to get any in the next few days. When I told her it didn't come out until July, she repeated what she had said earlier. I just walked out. I'll go back when one of the guys is working.

 Too bad it didn't come out a couple days ago, but yeah some of the people at Gamestop are clueless.

Today at Gamestop they told me September 2. Just one more day to anticipate the game.

With all this extra time, maybe they can incorporate Instant replay challenges.

I have liked what I have seen in the images at IGN but I truely hope they fix the baserunning! I still can't get a handle on that.

This is the best baseball game I have played. Success mode is addictive and I like how you can take that player right into life mode for 20yrs.

Check it out peeps.... I went to gamestop.com and it said that the preorder ships on 9/1 which kinda sucks but I finally saw some box art!

I don't know about you but at least this pumps me up a bit! Can't wait!

It does suck that it won't come out until Sept, but this is a game I certainly plan on getting on release day. I can wait.
