After reading all that I'm even more impatient for the game. Success mode doesn't have resting so there's definitely going to be some interesting strategies this year. I'm pumped :D

I watched the gameplay videos. A few things, first - Jack Merluzzi is already in mid-season form -lol- at least I know to go ahead and mute him right away like in 2007 :D In the clips he pronounces Chone Figgins' first name as "Ch-oh-nn" rather than "Shawn." In Angels vs. Dodgers, Pierre leads off with a flare single to right and Merluzzi screams that the Dodgers might score the game's first run -lol-

Second, a minor but very cool addition - watch what happens in the first video (Angels vs. Dodgers game) when Garciaparra comes up around the 3 minute mark. His hot/cold zones briefly show on the screen. Very nice!

Third is also minor but very welcome - watch Youklis and Ortiz bat in the Red Sox vs. Yankees clip. They made the bat have some transparency so it doesn't block your view of the incoming pitch. That's one thing I hate in 2007, having to hit with batting stances where the barrel of the bat hangs over the plate and obstructs my view of the pitch.

While the guy who wrote the hands-on tries to push himself as a big player, I have to question it when he says about Success Mode "Last year's mode was all about managing work, school classes, and relationships with the actual training and clutch, situational gameplay, as you followed your created player through single A competition. This time around, you've moved on from single A to AA (or Double A) competition...." Huh?

Lackey 3.01era 0 strike outs? That was during his warmup.

Hot and cold zone---I like it when i'm batting but I don't like it if I am pitching. If I see a blue zone that is where I will aim most of my pitches, especially for the strikeout. Balls were still hit when Lackey threw a pitch in a blue zone but as a pitcher I think it would be an advantage. I like seeing it as a hitter, how many of your players do you know their zones?

Career mode----games are played as the college world series. I LIKE that. Will be intresting to see how much playing time you get if you are a middle releiver.

Hobbies---will be intresting to see how they effect your stats.
Strenghts---30 to choice form! WOW. Pick two. Better have a clear idea of the person you are making.

Problem now is deciding weather to make a speedy SS for my Jays, power bat strong arm catcher, or a hard throwing lefty for the rotation!

Well it looks like with hitting you don't slide around in the batters box just extend your bat

and wow 9 new stadiums huh? sounds great

just to make a connection in sucsess it says our Boss or coach is named William(in the pics he is that big blonde guy) does anybody see a connection between the looks and name of William and Willy? hmmmm

just some more edits and im probalby looking to far into this but by the looks of it you can see that in the Red Sox vs Yanks vid that when pitching against Ortiz Wang is given a Sinker that he didn't have in 07

Yeah, I was looking through the pictures again the other day and saw that, and they do look alike and have the same name(just different ways).

I with ya Wyl. I didn't quite understand that and reread it as if I missed something extremely important.

more than likely a poor translation, they don't pay translators enough these days.

GameSpot has a preview up as well, but it doesn't tell much. Apparently the DS version will be missing the Success and MLB Life modes though :(
That pretty much kills my interest in that version.

Yeah that's pretty much 99% of the game to me. And why would it come out later if it skipped those modes.

I can't believe they weren't smart enough to incorporate success mode. I know there is only so much they can fit into a DS, but seriously, I would buy a DS and Mlbpp 08' for the SOLE purpose of being able to create characters on the road, and I don't think I'm the only one. They should come out with another game that only has success mode, and make sure it is compatible with the Wii.

C'mon Nintendo! You're blowin' it!!!
