Hi everyone, I have a quick question, what does SC, SCB, SIFB and V-SLD stand for? The pitches of course.

Screwball, Slow Curveball, Sinking Fastball, and Vertical Slider, respectively.

Thanks man, I was just wondering cause I wanted one of my players to learn a screwball and had no idea which one it was, the other two were out of curiosity.

The SCB is one of the best pitches in the game, IMO.

The V-SLD is also a great pitch - it's one of two pitches I can't seem to hit (the other being the 4SFB, as odd as that seems).

I disagree with the forkball being a top pitch. I can't figure out how to use it!

I like the screwball. It's like a sinker, but more drop and less sideways motion. Because of that, I find it more effective than a sinker at lvl 2-3 and equally effective at 4.

The hard-sinker outshines both of those once you get to level 4, IMO.

Also, I've got some pitches with foshes now. Like a forkball, but smoother. Anyway, I still don't think it's very effective, just like the forkball is not effective, but I like it better than the forkball.

I think that for pitches in the "down" category, here's how I rank them, based on effectiveness at lvl 1-3:

Palmball
Change-circle change (tie)
Splitter
Knuckle
Verticle slider
Fosh
Fork

As for the pitches I got to lvl 4, here's my ranking:

Knuckle
Splitter
Change
Vert slider
Fork

Unfortunately, the CPU doesn't have as much trouble with it as you!

I've found that it does, although I've had the CPU on a lower level recently due to having not played the game much in the past year or so.

I like the forkball because it seems to have more movement than a lot of other downwards breaking balls at level one, even a red condition palmball at level one vs. a yellow condition fork at level one, I say the fork has more break, I don't use it like jack Morris though, just get it in the plate somehow and mix it with a slider.

I've never been able to use the Knuckleball effectively. It always gets hit. It does really well in simulations, but I can never use it. They always know when it's coming, or something. :(

I play on Powerful.
