When you edit a player, there's a different colored bar that comes across his name. I thought I read somewhere that there was a way to make it go away but I can't find it now. I know if I just make a player, it would work, but I don't have the time or patience for that. So, basically, is there a way to keep that little nameplate all the same color and not have the edited players standing out with that bar?

You have an option at the beginning of Season Mode called "Name underbar" - switch that to OFF and you won't see it. This only applies to Season, though.
