So I made 5 different teams in a controlled environment. Each fielder (9 of them) had a default ability level set: 2/D/D/D/D/D/D (2/8/8/8/8/8/8)
And each pitcher on every team had a 95 mph fastball, a curve-ball (level 3) and a change up (level 3)
and stamina of 200 and control 135. 5 starters for each team with the SAME ability set. No blue or red abilities for
anyone. 3 relievers and a closer for each had the SAME ability level set as well, except their stamina was dropped to 70.
All pitchers had the default fielding and run speed levels of D (8).

Here's what makes this interesting, each of those teams was specialized in a certain part of the level set. One team had all of their fielders maxed out in trajectory, another in contact, another in power, another in run speed, and finally arm strength/fielding/error resistance.

Trajectory team: 4/D/D/D/D/D/D.....4/8/8/8/8/8/8
Contact team: 2/A/D/D/D/D/D.....2/15/8/8/8/8/8
Power team: 2/D/A/D/D/D/D.....2//8/255/8/8/8/8
Run Speed team: 2/D/D/A/D/D/D.....2/8/8/15/8/8/8
All Defense team: 2/D/D/D/A/A/A.....2/8/8/8/15/15/15

My hypothesis was that Run Speed and Contact would be duking it out for first place for almost every year. And Fielding would stay within 2nd or 3rd place every year. While Trajectory would be last only getting to 4th once. And last, Power being the 4th wheel and 5th one time.

Upon testing these teams, by making them play against each other in 'League Mode', all I can say was that I was very surprised with the results. I made them play 5 seasons against each other (not the biggest sample size, but it works). Here are the outcomes:

................Season 1................Season 2................Season 3................Season 4................Season 5................

1st place: Trajectory...............Trajectory...............Trajectory..............Trajectory..............Trajectory...............

2nd place: Contact.................Run Speed.................Contact..................Contact..................Power..................

3rd place: Run Speed................Contact................Run Speed..................Power...................Contact................

4th place: Power.......................Power...................Fielding.................Run Speed................Run speed..............

5th place: Fielding.....................Fielding....................Power..................Fielding....................Fielding................

It was fun seeing these teams play against each other, but I still think it's funny that the Trajectory team won every year.

Interesting... What did you conclude from this data? That trajectory is the most important aspect for a hitter?

Yes haha. In season mode the first thing I improve on for my hitters is their trajectory. It seems to work very well, seeing their avg. and home run numbers climb.

You're welcome! I wanted to do this for a while, but didn't have the time so I decided to do this weekend.

This is weird, because it used to be "never get trajectory 4! 3 is better!", but I guess this clearly proves otherwise

You guys are more than welcome to try and do this haha, might take a while. Wouldn't be surprised if your results are extremely different or the same

Me too, I'd always heared that trajectory 3 was best so I always went for that except in power hitters, and never really questioned it. Very interesting results!

I'd like to do the same thing except with pitchers. Wonder how that would work out...

Any suggestions? I'm thinking

Top Speed: 105/D/D, cb 1, chg 1
Control: 90/A/D, cb 1, chg 1
Stamina: 90/D/A, cb 1, chg 1
Stuff: 90/D/D, cb 7, chg 7
???: ???

Slowballers: 80 B/B cb 1 chg 1? or maybe like 80 C/C cb 2 chg 2?

And then make all the fielders like all 2DDDDDD or what?

Stuff and Top Speed would dominate

Thanks, I got it from that other thread that was talking about people with slow top speed getting rocked in season mode.
