Same! They'll get 3 bloopers then they'll get like a 2-run double or 3-run double, those always make me lose and pitchers always get bloopers singles off of me

Why can pitchers seem to hit so darn good? And it's not just the good-hitting pitchers like Zambrano and Hamills and such, it's the run-of-the-mill can barely swing a bat guys! i don't get it!

some pitchers do hit well though.
dontrelle willis and micah owings, for example.

they should have a new type of system for negotiations, more realistic. (but not mannyish in nature)

also, there should be a more complicated morale system too, and maybe the media and its effect could be integrated into it (e.g. someone like matt cain or jose lopez moving to NYC to play, or vice versa).

One of my Life players pitches for the Orioles. At first base is a weak-armed shortstop. Wes Helms, who I'd start at third if I were the manager, is DHing. Brandon Phillips, a 2B by trade, is actually doing a decent job at third. My shortstop is...Aaron Rowand. In the last season I've completed thus far, he basically clinched the error crown in May. About the only thing he can do well at short is field pop flies. That weak arm, and can't forget the boots, have cost us outs, and worse, runs. Adding to the madness, we have Nick Johnson...on the bench, only one catcher on the big league roster despite having 6 in the system, and traded for JJ Hardy...who is still being stashed in AAA.

And then I must mention his old team, the Mariners deciding to cut back on pitching for about half the season. Meaning my guy, a closer at the time, had to start one game because the rest of the staff was pooped. At one point the staff was 5 starters, the setup guy and the closer...yep, 7. Which would be a good number if we played weekend series, unfortunately this is the majors. So unsurprisingly, the M's went from looking at another AL West crown to having to chase, and ultimately fall short of the wild card.

Yessir, I'd like this idiotic roster management in My Life fixed. Aaron Rowand and Carlos Delgado should not be playing shortstop for anybody, and no team should cut back to 7 pitchers unless the rest all die or something.

I hate that management crap too.
that and the run support (or lack thereof) kinda turns me away from mlb life.

Agreed. I won't ever do an 08 pitcher.

It is unbelievable how the management works. The run support also factors in for your hitters too. I can't count how many times my character has provided the only runs for my team. I've only had 1 20HR and .250+ hitter on my team which included Carlos Delgado, Kevin Youkilis, David Wright, Shane Vicotrino. Hunter Pence was that guy. Each of these guys were .300 25HR hitters the year before I joined the team. The AI in MLB Life is also in need of a serious overhaul.

Oh yeah, and my 3 time gold glover, triple crown winning 2nd baseman has been moved to starting catcher over last years batting champion (LOL) Brad Ausmus then gets benched after 2 ABs while an .090 hitting Kaz Matsui plays the whole game at 2B. The mind boggles.

I think pitchers tend to hit well because solid contact with a contact swing and lousy power basically drops the ball right over the heads of infielders and short of outfielders.
