Practice for first couple of weeks use points to get a breaking pitch ideally it should be a curveball or even a changeup. Getting K's is the key. With a breaking pitch you should be able to get enough K's to boost your player. Also when bison is available buy the goggles and a princes charm when facing a batter press start until it shows them thinking you'll throw a fastball and then throw the curve. Storylines though go for siitchs training and finish the arc, the steak lady is good for stamina. It pretty much depends on what sort of pitcher your creating, if you did the Lucy arc you could get Dr K and intimidator or gyroball if you do patty's arc

ok, thanks. I usually make pitchers who specialize in one pitch, like a knuckleballer or a sinkerballer. If I could make a guy who throws 99 and had a killer set of breakers I would, I'll try it out later...

90% of getting good players is based on how much you're willing to save and reload, the other 10% is based on making the right decisions, like if you want an ability and you could get a stamina upgrade and still gamble for it, your player would be that much better because of it. Granted "that much" isn't really that much, it can add up, mostly early on when the upgrades are really cheap.

A fun thing to do is have a high-break pitch, say a forkball, and then have another pitch in the same direction, say a foshball, with a break of 1. Then go FORK, FORK, FOSH on a guy in a game (or vice versa) and watch the CPU fail.

The only items I buy in-game are the Psychic Goggles and Prince's Necklace, neither of which directly affects the pitcher.

As for skills, agreed on getting a breaking ball early. I get two, actually... I almost always focus on maxing breaking balls one-by-one with steady boosts in CTRL and STAM, and once I get the BB's where I want them to be is where I fully shift my focus.

And the steakhouse is your best friend for STAM. Definitely. There's one thing in the arc, the super deluxe mega set or whatever (which requires, I believe, a couple steps into the part with Terry at the steakhouse) gives you +25 STAMINA.

THAT'S A LOT. :P

Anyways, yeah, that's basically how I do it. Weight train in addition to the steakhouse for best STAM boosts, and I believe Accuracy gives you the Technique needed for CTRL. Oh, and the Sittch stuff gives you a lot of mentality, which comes quite scarcely.

Thanks for the tips, I just made a pitcher, he had a level 1 CB, level 2 Circle Change, Sinker, and slider, and a ton of useful abilities, completed patty's arc and got NADA for it. C control and B stamina, but he was a closer so shoulda stopped at D stamina.
