Post subject: | Making a BALANCED Team |
I don't know if this is the right topic for this, but I have a plan. I want to go through Success Mode, and create a balanced team. A few good players, a few bad, a few average, and then put them in season mode. Its just something to do with success. So, can you guys help me out, similar to Liam's hall of fame topic? Just post ideas for abilities and stuff, and remember to try to be a balanced team. I can also post passwords if you want, but there probably won't be many super good players. Anyway, my first question for you guys. Does the plan below look like I have everything covered for my team? Starting Pitchers- SP SP SP SP SP Bullpen- Spot Starter(C stamina?) RP RP RP RP RP SU CL Starters, pretty obvious- C 1B 2B 3B SS LF CF RF Backups- Catcher Corner infielder Middle infielder Outfielder Also, what should I do for my first guy? I'll be doing backups last, and doing the better, "superstar" player(s) first. So, what position should my first and best player be? (Not a pitcher, a fielder) I was thinking a star shortstop maybe? |

That sounds like a good idea. How's this for a SS: TRJ: 3 CON: C POW: B RUN: C ARM: C FLD: D E-RES: C |

If you want to make a balanced team there shouldn't be anyone that's a superstar all-around, maybe an All-Star hitter and some above average fielders. I'd make a Right Fielder with great hitting and good arm strength, maybe with average run speed but not good all-around fielding. |

I guess not a superstar SS, because I don't really like the thought of a power hitting one. I was thinking more of a defensive minded SS I guess. How does dish's idea sound for a third baseman? But maybe D speed and D error res, then A power? I see what you mean cooldude. Maybe I'll make a RF first... trj 4 D con A pwr D spd (he is an outfielder) B arm E fld D e res Sound good? |

That looks pretty good for a star player on a balanced team, average contact with outstanding power and a good throwing arm. I can think of a players in the MLB that are/were like that. |

Alright, he will be my first guy I make. While I make him, you guys wanna plan out another? I was thinking catcher next. I love defensive catchers, so: trj. 2 D con D-E pwr D-E spd A-B arm B fld B e res I was also thinking I could try to get good catcher from secrets of defense. What does that ability do? And do you guys think I should do D or E for power and speed? And A or B for arm strength? |

I've been making too many players through editing, so I have no idea anymore what abilities can be obtained through success mode and what reasonable stats are. I like the idea of one of the catchers I recently made on a team though, defensively anyway. That catcher I believe had A Arm Strength with Throwing 2, poor fielding stats, and Error Prone. I honestly don't see how much good fielding stats can even make a difference for a catcher, it's not exactly a position where good fielding range is a necessity. I suppose if they have bad error resistance they may drop a pop up once in a while, but those never even wind up fair so it likely won't even cost a baserunner when it happens. |

A perect defensive catcher would have as high of possible fielding and error res but throwing an A, throwing 2 ability. Gd block, maybe trash talk and gd catcher. Gd Catcher, or Grt Catcher is a catcher's ability that improves the pitcher's command as well as lessen stamina drain. So that would be recommended. Also if you need a first basemen iv been wanting to make a powerhouse first basemen as in Batting stance like Adam Dunn trj 4 contact C-B PWR A(255) RUN E-D ARM B-A FIELD E-D ERROR RES E-D Power Hitter Intim Cluth 4-5 Pull Hitter Maybe refined hitter & idk what else, lemme know if I should start |

He said he will be making the players, since he avoids entering passwords like the plague. Maybe take away refined, and intimidator, and you'll be fine. |

How about your typical pull hitting slugging first baseman? Contact: E Power: A Run Speed: F Arm Strength: D Fielding: E-D Error Resistance: D Pull Hitter Timely Whiff Power Hitter And anything else that would fit |

Why would you put Throwing 2 with a defensive catcher? |

Only guy it would work for is A.J Pierzynski, dude has a Johnny Damon arm for a catcher. |
