Basic TRJ idea that might work, though it is simple: 0-9 = 1
10-19 = 2
20-29 = 3
30+ = 4

Basically, just take the first digit of the players HR total and add 1 and there's your TRJ.

i think i found a formula for arm strength. It's a lot like the speed rating. if you go to the fan scouting report section it has a score called "Arm Strength" and it is based 1-100.

95+ A(15)
90+ A(14)
85+ B(13)
80+ B(12)
75+ C(11)
70+ C(10)
65+ D(9)
60+ D(8)
55+ E(7)
50+ E(6)
45+ F(5)
40+ F(4)
0+ G(3)

Hey King, I've looked at the fan scouting report section on fangraphs a lot as I've been updating MLB 13 the Show rosters, and the ratings appeared to be skewed downward i.e. the fans are overly harsh. I'd be cautious about handing out too many F's because that approaches being unrealistically awful for a major league player, and I definitely wouldn't go down to a G under pretty much any circumstances.

I think there should be some F's in there. If you look at all the first basemen in MLBPP 2008, a lot have a F in arm strength.

Just found the numbers for arm strength and such on fangraphs, should we do the same for running speed?
And I like this scale more than the other two you made, but that's just me

Using rARM on Fangraphs is easier, but its only available for OFs. It's scaled so that 0 is average and it seems like it goes about 5 runs in either direction. We could use it for OF arm strength and add or take away 1 arm strength per 1 rARM run saved or lost

yeah i was going to tell u guys about that, but its only for outfielders i held off. i guess we could use it for out fielders.

This is what I think for Fielding%:
Not certain if this is the perfect way of doing it. I haven't tested to see if this is how MLB PP is situated

EDIT: I have deleted the chart sale due to the fact that the scaling was wrong for each position.

Base Error Resistance off of the position of the player, ex:
a catcher and 1B are usually up in the mid-to-high .990's. If either one is at .985, then that would be really bad for that position. If that was a fielding% for a 3B, then that would probably be in the top 3 for highest fielding% for a 3B.

would that be for the player's fielding rating, or their E RES rating?

I was always using advanced/sabr stuff for the fielding, and then just comparing their fldg percentage to the league average at their position for E RES. Since E RES corresponds exactly to errors and fldg pctg, that makes sense - but the player's actual fielding ability is more a SABR thing in my mind.
