We are not doing well. At the bottom of the division easily with a 2-11 record. Every game is immensely frustrating, but hey, at least MLbPP is a challenge again!

TRADE:
CWS send OF/1B Nick Swisher
STL sends IF Adam Kennedy, OF Chris Duncan

Yay a power bat! Swish is an immediate middle of the order addition, with Cody Ross, Lyle Overbay and Michael Cuddyer rounding out the offense.

April 10, 2008 - SFG 4, STL 1
Noah Lowry versus Kyle Lohse. Lohse did well but it didn't matter.

April 11, 2008 - SFG 3, STL 2
Giving Mark Mulder a try and he does decently - at least he doesn't shatter into glass bits on the mound. But we can't beat Lincecum and his crazy pitch movement, or the Incredible Vinnie Chulk. Please tell me someone called him the Incredible Chulk during his time in the majors.

April 12, 2008 - SFG 4, STL 3
Matt Cain takes us to task. Ugh. Had this one but it slipped away. Steals are very hard - Bengie Molina is easy to run on, but the second I press the steal button I am guaranteeing a pickoff throw. Molina is also somehow an offensive beast, hitting homers and long doubles all the time.

April 13, 2008 - SFG 8, STL 5
The offense looks good as we open the first with 2 runs off MadBum. Joel Pineiro takes a start but gets hit for 4 runs in the first. We tie it up, but Andy Marte gives up a huge homer. Cuddyer, Ross and McDonald all pitch, and we don't do anything against Vinnie Chulk or Sergio Romo.

News
Aaron Miles is selected as a player of the week for hitting .500 with one rBI. Woooo. What about his pitching tho?!?

Fielder ERA update:
Aaron Miles: 40.5
Andy Marte: 10.8
Cody Ross: 7.56
Rick Ankiel: 7.36
Skip Schumaker: 4.50
Joe Inglett: 3.00. (3 ip)
Michael Cuddyer: 1.80 (5 ip)
Lyle Overbay: 0.00 (1 ip)
John McDonald: 0.00 (1 ip)

Yet to throw:
Nick Swisher

April 15, 2008 - MIL 3, STL 2
Braden Looper against Matt Bush. We give up an early run on an error (joe Inglett couldn't handle a pop out in RF). We tie it off Bush with some dinky hits, then go ahead in the 4th off a Cody Ross homer to straightaway center! That run is given back but we go into the 10th tied 2-2 - my first extra inning game. Isringhuasen can't keep them off the board though as Rickie Weeks gets a two strike bloop double and comes around to score.

April 16, 2008 - MIL 13, sTL 4
Kyle Lohse did okay, limiting the brewers to 3 runs and leaving with a 3-3 tie. R also contributed a hit and RBI. Kyle McClellan came on in relief and absolutely imploded as the brew crew scored 7 runs in the 7th. Hardy, Fielder, Hart and Hall all homered. Inglett and Overbay in relief, both allowing runs.

TRADE
SEA sends catcher Rob Johnson
STL sends catcher Jason LaRue

April 17, 2008 - MIL 3 , STL 2
Wainer took the mound trying to get us back on track, but ugh, we drop a close contest and stay in the cellar.

April 18, 2008 - STL 4, SFG 3
Jaime Garcia gives up 3 runs over 6 innings and we are down 3-0. I start bringing in the fielders for relief - Ankiel, Inglett, and McDonald - and all three throw scoreless innings! Soon we recover a run as Carroll doubles and Overbay drives him in.
In the bottom of the ninth we are down 3-1, but Overbay hits a massive homer to left, and Inglett hits a deep double taking third on a wild pitch. Yadi Molina drops a bloop into right to tie it 3-3 and we are on for extras! Kyle McClellan comes in for a solid 10th inning.
Aaron Miles hits a huge walk off homer and sends them home happy!

How can you forget Mitch Moreland?! He threw a 94mph fastball.

Drew Butera also threw one 94mph!

Edit: Wilson Valdez pitched with 0era, and got a win in 2011!

Someone would have to make Moreland in success I think.

This failed miserably, BTW - i moved everything to fast pitch and all-star difficulties and I lost like 20 straight games. The AI had no love.

This is so awesome. In my season I converted Micah Owings to 1B in the offseason. He's awful because I didn't edit him (has 4 contact, almost no power at all) and is currently batting .000 in like 14 at bats on All Star. But it makes me happy to have him playing his better position!
