With only hours remaining on our trade offer, I received a call from the one and only Billy Beane. "I feel like we'll need to decline your offer. The salaries are just way too high. We're not the Yankees. We don't run these types of deals." "But Billy," I plead, "Do you want to make the playoffs? Your pitching is shit, your catching is shit, but your prospects are great. Think; the Rangers are gonna be the laughing stock of the league for at least the next five years. But the Angels and Mariners each have great pitching and decent hitting, and are only gonna improve. If you want to beat them, what are couple million bucks? You guys have fewer fans than the Jacksonville Jaguars! This'll show you're committed to winning now, and isn't that what you want? Bradford was a key piece in your success a few years ago. What makes you think he can't be again? But, you know, if you're still not interested, the Angels certainly are. In fact, I think that's them on the other line right now." There was just silence for over five minutes, leaving me to believe he'd hung up. Just as I was about to cancel the call, I hear a response at the other end of the line. "We accept" Billy said, before ending the connection, leaving me with static. "I guess my job here is done." I say to myself before sitting down to read some more Moneyball "What a sucker!" :twisted:

So this is the trade in its entirety. The Orioles receive Justin Duchscherer (RP, 1200, 90DE/3 CUT/4 CB/3 CHG), Kurt Suzuki (C, 390, 2FDEEED), and Daric Barton (1B, 390, 2FDFEFD). The Athletics receive Chad Bradford (RP, 3500, 83BE/2 2SFB/2 SLD/1 CHG/4 SIFB) and Ramon Hernandez (C, 7330, 2DCEEED)

It's a bit of a downgrade from Ramon to Kurt but still...

Ah, yes. The shed vets/money + add youth Moneyball strategy. I use it all the time in MLB2K and try to in MLBPP also.

I don't feel as though this log is quite on the same level as the Aliens, Gunmen, and even the Mendenhals. If you guys have any feedback on how I can make this log better, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Aside from the fact that I tend to enjoy logs about fictional players more, I think this log is great.

One thing, and it's fairly minor, is that you might want to change your formatting a bit. Instead of:

It goes a long way towards making things easier to read. Then again, I only hit enter once when changing speakers, but that's just to save space for lengthier conversations.

If I had originally given a serious answer, the fact that all 3 logs have all fake players on their team is a reason you might feel that way. People seem to be more intrigued by players that they've never seen before.

The additions of Stanton, Lorraine and Davis are a very nice touch, and this log fills a necessary niche by being the best active one that uses the default rosters.
