The Blackjacks jumped on Texas starter Colby Lewis early, plating 5 earned on the stink faced righty.
John Bradley pitched a scoreless eighth for the Hold,
and Lance Derby picked up the Save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Alfonzo invited John Bradley to play golf.
John was practicing on the putting green when Alfonso's friends arrived.
It was Barry Zito and Jason Giambi!
John watched in awe as they congratulated Alfonzo on making it back to the big leagues.
When their golf carts arrived, it seemed like Zito wanted to ride with Alfonzo.

Does John:
1. Insist on riding with Alfonzo.
2. Ride with Giambi.
3. It's such a nice day, he decides to walk.

John put his bag on the back of Giambi's cart and got in.
After some general chit chat, he got Giambi talking about hitting.
Three hours later, John had a new perspective on what professional hitting could be.

Tucker Towns hit two doubles and drove in three runs for Las Vegas.
Cassius Patterson earned the win with 7 innings of four hit ball.
Cristobal Santos picked up the save.

Tucker Towns got a text at 5am from Alfonzo Brown, asking him to get to the park a little early that day.
When TT arrived, he found Brown in the dugout, sipping his morning cup of coffee.
Brown said that he would like to see Towns step into the starting catcher role for the upcoming season. Brown was getting older, and 6 months of squatting wouldn't vibe very well with his body.
Besides that, he saw potential for good things in Tucker, and he felt the team would be better for it.
Tucker agreed to meet for early training sessions with Alfonzo.

What would he like to start with?

2. Pitch framing
3. Pitch blocking

Tucker would love to work on his pitch-framing skills

Tucker chose to learn more about the art of pitch framing.
He made some good progress.

Double header with the Rockies.

Gm1 COL 9, LVB 4. Gm2, COL 6, LVB 2

Nolan Arrenado destroyed LVB pitching today. He blasted two home runs in game one, driving in four runs. In game two he again homered twice, while driving in all six Colorado runs.
"Not sure why we kept throwing anywhere close to the plate" said Alfonzo Brown, "but to be honest he made two great swings on borderline pitches. And to that you just have to tip your cap."
...
Late that night, Lance Derby was working in the clubhouse batting cage when Arrenado walked in.
"Mind if I get some cuts in?", he asked Lance, "I've got a couple things to iron out."
"You just hit four home runs off us today" said Lance, " what could you possibly need to work on?"
"Shoulda had five", said Arrenado,"and besides, that was today. I've got Kershaw tomorrow."
Derby was impressed.

How does he reply?
1. Give up the cage, and ask about his approach to hitting Kershaw.
2. Give up the cage if Arrenado agrees to evaluate Derby's swing.
3. Tell him to find someplace else to hit.

Lance will choose 2

"No problem", said Lance, "but would you mind if I ask what you think of my hitting approach?"
"Sure", said Arrenado, "take a few cuts for me."
And after a few swings, he told Derby "you've got good power in that swing, but you need to go with the pitches you get. Wait longer on those outside pitches and punch them into right field."
Lance did so, hitting three straight line drives to the right side.
"There you go", said Arrenado, "with that swing they have to respect you to all fields."

Jack Caselli was shagging flies during batting practice when El Duque waved for him to come in to the infield. Duque wanted Jack to finish up throwing that days batting practice.
He was throwing to Cristobal Santos, who was crushing Jacks fastball (79mph).
A bit frustrated, Jack kicked up a bit of dust after one long blast.
Unfortunately, this actually woke Cristobal up, as he'd just assumed Jack was throwing BP lollipops, not actually trying to get the big man out.
"Calm down, mijo" said Cristobal, "I eat *censored* like that for breakfast."
"You eat *censored* for breakfast?" Jack replied, "gross"
"Now you pissed me off mijo. Let's go. I'm going to show you why you don't talk *censored* to a real man."

What does Jack do?
1. Rear back and throw his best heater.
2. Throw a Circle Change in the dirt.
3. Throw it at Cristobals head.

2. I want to strike that Santos out.

Jack mimicked his best fastball delivery and it fooled Santos, who swung hard and early at a circle change that tumbled out of orbit before reaching the plate.
"Ha! Yes!!", said Jack.
Santos growled under his breath and headed back to the dugout.

That afternoon, the Blackjacks played their first exhibition game against the Las Vegas Linedrives.
Steve Whitney started for the Liners. Featuring a level 7 original SCB and a FB topping out at 102mph, he kept the Jacks off balance for eight innings.
Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth, Jack Caselli tripled to score Huxley.
With two outs, Dusty Yokel came to bat as the go ahead run.
Jack Caselli (15 Spd)represented the tying run at second base.

How does Dusty approach the at-bat?
1. Contact swing, go for at least a tie
2. Power swing, go for the walk off win
