MLB Commissioner Bud Selig has announced two expansion teams to the MLB. The first team announced is the Sacramento Wings. The Wings will fill the 5th spot in the AL West division. They will play their home games in Suburban Stadium and host spring training is Arizona.
The second team announced by the commissioner, is the New Orleans Stallions. The Stallions will fill the 6th spot in the AL central division, making the AL and NL identical to each other. The Stallions will play their home games in Rainbow Beach Stadium.

The New Orleans Stallions have just released their fielders for the 2008 season

Position, Name, Trajectory, Contact, Power, Run Speed, Arm Strengh, Fielding, Error Resistance
Catcher, Mason Penrod 2, E, E, E, B, C, E Mason is a Catcher straight out of Texas A & M. Native to Texas, his new home at New Orleans won't be much of a change. Expect to see this kid drunk at Mardi Gras. Agent: AgentP
Catcher, Kai Kamehameha 3, F, D, F, C, D, D Kai is a native Hawaiian. He grew up living easy and riding waves. Hard work in the Major's in gonna be hard to come by for Kai, but he'll need it if he wants to become the starting Catcher. Instead of sitting on the bench during the game, he'll be out on the beach riding the waves. Agent: Agent P
First/Third Baseman, Darian Korpes 3, E, B, D, C, E, E Darian is an immigrant from Kiev, Ukraine. His family fled from fighting from the Orange Revolution. Darian loves racing cars and has been arrested on 2 separate occasion for drag racing.
First Baseman/Designated Hitter, Charles Lindbergh 4, D, A, E, D, F, F Charles is the great-grandson of his namesake grandfather. Charles likes to fly, not only in planes, but also make the baseballs he hit fly over the fence. He has a pilot's licence and flies a replica "Spirit of St. Louis" on occasion.
Second Baseman, Ivan Pearson 1, E, E, B, D, C, F Ivan grew up in Moscow, and spent most of his childhood running from the police. At some later point he picked up a bat and played baseball. He keeps a shirtless picture of Putin on his locker.
Shortstop/Second Baseman, Kevin Wilkes [color] [color=#FF8000]1, DE, A, E, D, D Kevin has played baseball all his life. He was a pretty disobedient child, so he ran lots and lots of laps, but that looks like it paid out nicely in the end.
Shortstop, Tony Dudley 2, B, F, D, E, D, B Tony's some random ass dude who showed up with a bat. The team had to supply the glove and cleats, however.
Third/First Baseman, Alex Miller 3, E, B, E, B, D, D Alex was born and raised a Cajun, eating shrimp, gumbo, and etoufe. He knows just about everything there is to know about New Orleans, and when he heard a team was on it's way he jumped at the chance.
Right/Left Fielder, Akram Bettayb 3, E, B, D, C, E, E Akram's from Egypt, and the ancestor of Ramses the 2nd. Akram loves dig sights and archaeology, and is a platinum member of the New Orleans Museum of Art, specifically for the artifacts.
Right Fielder, Sharil Maridea 2, E, F, F, E, D, C Sharil is a former cricket player for Pakistan's National Team. He moved to the state's after the Taliban became to powerful, and, after finding out that cricket isn't a thing in the US, changed to baseball.
Center Fielder, Alex Champ 2, B, F, C, E, B, A Alex is an artist, and he loves to make beautiful diving catch's. When he's not in the field, he's at the Museum of Art with Akram, or at his own studio along Bourbon Street.
Center Fielder, Max Stegal 2, E, E, D, D, D, F Max is heir to the British crown. A snobby Brit, Max is very much disliked by his teammates, but his immense wealth buys a lot of friends, and a free ride onto the team.
Outfielder, Clay Johnson 2, E, E, C, D, B, C Clay is your honest working man. He has a wife and a kid, Bobby. You won't see Clay slacking off, he's always on the field, working away to get better.

The New Orleans Stallions have announced their pitchers for the 2008 season.

Type of Pitcher, Name, Top Speed, Control, Stamina, Breaking Balls
Starter, Ace Campbell 100, C, A, 2SFB 1, SLD 3, CLV 2, CCHG 5, SPLT 1 Ace is a locally known actor. The 6'8'' pitcher frequently visit's the theater and ballet performances. Ace will act in many plays during the offseason.
Starter, Jacob Bulseco 94, B, B, SLD 5, SCB 3, CB 2, CHG 2 Jacob is the team's second richest player, only after Max. Unlike Max however, Jacob has some skill. Jacob is often seen at pools or at the beach with Kai. Swimming is his second nature.
Starter, Gus "The Snake" Boas 96, C, A, 2SFB 1, DCB 2, V-SLD 3, CHG 2 Known as "The Snake" for his unhittable V-SLD and DCB, Gus is a resident of Brazil. He came to the States after a Boa Constrictor chases his onto a ship destined for Miami.
Starter, Daniel Lam 94, C, A, H-SLD 2, CB 2, CHG 1 Daniel hail from Taiwan, where he pitched on a local team. After arriving the US, he joined the Stallions for his chance to be in the big time.'
Starter, Jake Forbes 92, C, B, CUT 2, KN 3 After inheriting a large sum of wealth from his distant relative B.C. Forbes, Jake launched a tech company at just age 15. It was a massive failure and he now plays baseball to get rid of the debt.
Swing Man, Austin Leonhart 93, C, C, SLD 1, CB 3, CHG 2, SIFB 2 A die hard Toronto fan, Austin has wanted nothing more than to play for the Blue Jays. But he'll have to start from the bottom to get there.
Middle Relief, Lucas Kampe 96, D, E, SLD 3, V-SLD 3, CHG 2. Nobody really knows much about Lucas. He just shows up for practice and games and pitches.
Middle Relief, Micah Luciero 93, C, E, SLD 3, CB 2, CHG 1 Micah is a Spaniard from Barcelona. He previously fought for Catalonian independence but fled the country after violent demonstrations. He raises bulls on a ranch outside New Orleans.
Middle Relief, Gage Lupo 95 , C, E, CB 3, KN 2 Named for the wolf who founded Rome, the Lupo's are believed to have descended from Remus and/or Romulus. Gage also cook's up a lot of pizza's for the team, "athletes gotta athleat".
Mop-Up Man, Ayan Sarkar 90, E, E, CUT 2, SCB 1, SIFB 1 Ayan is from India. While he did not play Cricket like Sharil, he did follow him here, and Sharil needed someone to pitch for him, even someone as terrible as Ayan.
Set-Up Man, Joel Velasco 94, C, E, 2SFB 1, SPLT 3, CB 3 Joel comes from the tropical city of Cancun, Mexico. After playing for some amount of years, Joel eventually got good enough to take over the Set-Up Man role.
Closer, Daryl Kim 98, D, E, SLD 2, DCB 5, CCHG 3 Daryl is a defectee from North Korea, who after playing baseball for years in consentration camps, got good enough to go pro.

March 13th, 2008

The New Orleans Stallions have announced their manager today. Managing the club, both as the General Manager and the regular manager, is Ethan Benefield. The young upstart from Philly has coached his way through the minors and now has landed himself one of the most coveted spots in professional sports.

Benefield had this today at the news conference "I'm going to make some changes to this young team. Under my rule everyone is gonna get along, and we will have a perfect locker room. Subs will be used often, as we have some excellent talent on the bench, and selfless bunts will be standard issue."

How will this team-oriented style work in a time of Homer and RBI's? Only time will tell.

Opening Day is upon the Stallions as they face off against the Tigers in Rainbow Beach Stadium. Ace Campbell is going to start on the mound today, and many are asking themselves, is this guy for real or is he just acting it? Dontrelle Willis will be starting for the Tigers

In a pitcher's opening day, Campell went 8 innings and Willis going 10. The Stallions strike first today with Korpes and Johnson both getting RBI's in the 4th. The Tigers don't die easy, as they score 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to save their hide. Perhaps manager Benefield shouldn't have let Campbell pitch into the 9th, as he let in 2 hits without an out, before being replaced by Kim In the 11th, Dontrelle Willis injures himself with a strained elbow. In the 12th inning, Tigers PH Santiago hits a solo HR, and subsequently wins the game for the Tigers

Akram Bettayb 2 - 5, 2B Akram got two key leadoff hits, despite nothing being made of them. If he keeps this up he'll be a valuable hitter.
Tony Dudley 4 - 5, SO 4 hits in a single game? Incredable
Ace Campbell 8 IP, 9 H, 4 SO, 1 BB, 2 ER Ace was pitching great until Benefield kept him into the 9th. If he had stopped in the 8th, he would have 8 IP, 7 H, 4 SO and 0 ER.

The first inning is a wild one as the Tigers score 2 runs with the bases loaded. It's a miracle Bulseco got out of that one. In the bottom half, Stallion's CF Champ gets a single to score Wilkes from 2nd. The Stallions lead the charge in the 2nd, scoring 4 runs. Penrod scored 1, Wilkes 2, and Champ 1. The Tigers retaliate in the 3rd, scoring 2, but 3 straight K's from Bulseco stop their momentum. No more runs are scored in the game, and the Stallions get their first win of their existence.

Kevin Wilkes 2 - 4, 2B, 2 RBI, 1 R, 1 K The speedster Wilkes got some key contributions in today's game. His speed helped him cross home in the 1st, and then he scored the go-ahead run in the 2nd.
Alex Champ 2 - 4, 2 RBI's Champ scored the 1st run for the Stallions, and then knocked another across in the 2nd to get the insurance run we needed.
Austin Leonhart 6 IP, 2 H, 12 K, 0 ER Leonhart came in to relief a struggling Bulseco, but who would have expected this! 6 innings of 2 hit ball, not to mention 12 K out of 20 batters faced! If Austin keeps this up, he'll be in the starting rotation in no time flat.

Tomorrow we fly out to Kansas City to face the Royals, who are 0 - 2 so far this season.

"Bruh, I am tired after that game" Kai exclaims to nobody in particular
"You got 1 AB today, you didn't even field!" shouts Jacob, still salty from his performance.
"But I got a hit in that AB!" Kai retorts
"Whatever floats your boat" Jacob says, walking out.
"I'm gonna hit the beach, who's coming with?" Kai asked
A silence goes over the locker room, until Gus speaks up "Yeah I'll go"
Ivan also steps up and joins the convoy "Da"

At the beach, Kai immediately got his board and hit the waves.
Gus went into the water and started to swim. "This water is has so much less sewage than the water back home in Rio!" Gus exclaimed, as a mosquito bit into his arm. Ivan was nowhere to be seen. He ran off to who knows where.
"Should we go look for him?" Gus yelled over to Kai
"Nah dude, but check this out!" Kai responded, as he descended into a tunnel of water. Ivan returned a couple hours later with three snowcones.
"Sweet Snowcones!" Gus said, lunging for one.
"No, these are mine. MINE" Ivan replied, lurking back toward the sandy beach.
"Who told the GM to hire Gollum man? I'm red enough, lets head back" Kai said as he wrapped up his day on the beach.

This game never fell out of the Stallion's hands. Following an early Bettayb RBI, the Stallion's never allowed a run. The Stallion's first ever HR was hit by Bettayb in the 7th, and later that inning Johnson was injured sliding back into first after a pickoff attempt.

Top 3

Akram Bettayb 2 - 4, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, R, K Akram got the Stallion's first homer today, plus his RBI earlier in the game is enough for him to be in the Top 3.
Darian Korpes 1 - 4, 2B, RBI, 2 K Darian got the insurance run in the 8th, and almost had the second Stallion homer. Although he had 2 K's, Darian got in the Top 3
Gus Boas 7 IP, 5 H, 9 K's 0 ER Gus held the Royals to exactly 0 runs, and only allowed 5 hits while he struck out 9. Gus also got tonight's win, which put him in the Top 3

In the Locker Room after the game, the team huddled around the doc's office, waiting to hear the news. When Doc Brown finally came out, he announced to the team that Johnson will be alright.
"Yeah Boy!" Akram shouted above all the hooting and hollering
"Don't get yourself killed" Champ whispered in his quiet tone of voice.

In a quiet offensive game today, the only run scored was Korpes' RBI double in the 6th. Wilkes made history today by getting the Stallion's first stolen base of their existence in the third inning. Lam pitched a complete game shutout.

Darian Korpes 2 - 4, 2B, RBI Having the only RBI of the game, Korpes was a dead lock for the top 3. He was one of two players to get 2 hits today
Kevin Wilkes 2 - 4, SB Getting the Stallion's first stolen base got Wilkes on here, not to mention his two hits today.
Daniel Lam 9 IP, 6 H, 15 K's*, 0 ER Lam dominated today. 15 K's in a complete game shutout is the best preformance we've seen from a starter this year. Without this epic preformance, the Stallion's one run would not have won the game. Lam also has the most strikeouts in the MLB as of April 6th.

The Royals kick off the game with a 2 run third, and there should have been more, but Forbes miraculously held them off. The 6th inning saw action for the Stallion's, with Bettayb getting an RBI and Miller hitting a 2-run homer, his first of the season. A two run 8th gives the Stallions the insurance they needed to win the game.

Top 3

Charles Lindberg 2 - 4, 2 2B, RBI, 2 R, K Charles had two extra base hits today, and got to touch home plate both times. His second double also brought home a run.
Alex Miller 2 - 4, HR, 2 RBI, R Alex brought about the end of the game by hitting his 8th inning 2-run homer.
Gage Lupo 3 IP, 2 H, 5 K, 0 ER Gage took over the one run lead after Forbes only got in 5 innings. Gage kept the lead strong by pitching a needed 3 innings with 5 K's

Later, April 6th, 2008

"Ayy guys Mia is announcing the Players of the Week!" Mason shouting to a distracted locker room. The team shuffled over to the 40'' flat screen TV they installed to the wall.
"For the week of March 31st to April 6th, the player of the week award for the AL goes to Gary Matthews Jr. of the Angels, for his .588 Avg and 3 RBI's. Also congratulations to Daniel Lam of the New Orleans Stallions for his..." Nobody heard what she said next, as Daniel was mobbed by his teammates.
"ATTA BOY" Lindbergh cheered
"Sweeeeeeeeeet" Trace praised.
After everyone settled down Daniel spoke a few words. "This is great and an honor, but there's a few people I coulnd't have done this without. THOSE LOSER ROYALS!!!! SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!" The locker room erupted again, and the team picked up Daniel, and carried him out to the field for his Gatorade bath. Max even got his golden throne out for Daniel to sit in, as he got soaked in red.

Today marks the start of a 4 game road series against the Tigers, until we return home to Cajun-land

Leonhart v Bonderman

Stallions 0.0.0.0.0.4.0.0.0.0. 4
Tigers... 0.2.0.0.2.0.0.0.0.1. 5

W - D.Baustista 1 - 0
L - Velasco 0 - 1
HR - Sheffield 1, Thames 2, Bettayb 2

In a 10 inning game, the Stallions just didn't have enough in the tank. The Tigers start the series by getting a 2 run 2nd inning. A 2-run homer for the Tigers gives them room for error in the latter innings. Lindbergh gets a run for the Stallions in the 6th while Bettayb gets a 3-run homer to tie the game, and keep the Stallions alive. In extra innings, the Tigers get a 10th inning solo homer to take the game.

Top 3

Akram Bettayb 2 - 4, HR, 3 RBI, R, K A no-brainer choice, Akram makes his way onto the top 3 again by getting his 2nd homer of the season in a clutch time.
Mason Penrod 2 - 4 Even without any other stats, Penrod had the only other 2 hit game, and had 2 very good, but botched chances for runs.
Micah Luciero 3 IP, 2 H, 3 K, 0 ER Micah came into the game after a 4 inning start by Leonhart (who was not at full stamina to begin with) Micah kept the Stallions in the game and was the best pitcher of the evening.

Campell v Verlander

Stallions 0.0.0.1.0.0.0.0.0. 1
Tigers... 0.0.0.0.1.0.0.0.1. 2

W - Verlander 1 - 1
L - Sarkar 0 - 1

We should really fix this walk-off problem. The Stallions strike first with a run in the 4th, a Lindbergh single off of the Stallion's first triple, courtesy of Kevin Wilkes. The Tigers claw back and tie the game in the 5th. The Tigers took the game in the bottom of the 9th, off of a Granderson walk off.

Charles Lindbergh 2 - 4, RBI, K The only 2-hitter today, Lindbergh got the only RBI and helped keep the team in the game.
Kevin Wilkes 1 - 4, 3B, R, 3K Although having three strikeouts today, Kevin's triple is the first in Stallion history.
Ace Campell 7 IP, 8 H, 9 K, 1 ER Ace started the game and pitched 7 solid innings, ending in a no decision. His ERA is now at 1.80.

April 9th, 2008

Bulseco v Seay

We finally stopped the Tigers, in a game that we dominated throughout. Miller gets the Stallions going with an RBI in the 2nd. Champ scores again in the 3rd, solidifying Stallion lead. Champ and Pearson (PH'ing for Dudley) get two runs in the 7th, making it nearly impossible for the Tigers to comeback. The Tigers however, instantly respond with a solo homer, but it's not enough to win

Alex Champ 2 - 5, 2B, 2 RBI, 1 R, 1 K Champ got 2 critical RBI's in today's game, and helped lead the Stallion's to their first win of the series.
Kevin Wilkes 4 - 5, 2B, R, SB Kevin is one of the surprises so far this year. Expected only to serve as speed on the bases, Wilkes has shown a lot, with 2 RBI's, 4 Runs, and a .313 AVG.
Jacob Bulseco, 6 IP, 2 H, 6 K, 1 ER Jacob didn't allow a hit until the 5th inning, and only allowed 1 run, off a homer. The only reason he was pulled was for rest and conditioning reasons, otherwise he could have very well had a 2 hit complete game.

April 10th, 2008

Boas v Rogers

Stallions 0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0. 0
Tigers... 0.0.0.2.0.0.1.0.x. 3

W - Rogers 1 - 1
S - Jones 2
L - Boas 1 - 1

An ugly game with a blown 9th inning chance, only 5 hits by the Stallions. The Tigers start the game off in the 4th inning, getting 2 runs off Boas. The Tigers enlarge their lead, getting another run in the 7th, and holding off a loaded bases 2 out 9th (Korpes blew it)

Top 3

Tony Dudley 3 - 4, 2 K, BB With 3 hits today, Dudley was about the only bright spot in today's game.
Max Stegal 1 - 1 He got a hit PH'ing for Champ. Stegal kept the game alive in a clutch 2 out hit.
Gage Lupo 1.2 IP, 3 H, 3 K 0 ER Lupo was O.K. today, but he didn't allow a run, so he's on here.
