Post subject:  Omaha Tornadoes

Major League Baseball announced today the formation of a new team, the Omaha Tornadoes. The announcement of the new team comes as the Florida Marlins closed their doors and the franchise folded. The Tornadoes will play out of the American League Central, with the Tampa Bay Rays moving to the NL East and the Detroit Tigers to the AL East to keep the leagues and divisions balanced.
In addition to the five outstanding rookies Owner/GM/Manager Scott0530 somehow found, that no one else seemed to notice, the Tornadoes also picked up six players in the leagues expansion draft: 1B Doug Mientkiewicz, 2B Chin-Lung HU, RF Shin-Soo Choo, SP’s Phil Hughes and Franklin Morals and RP Matt Lindstrom.
--------------------------------
The way I did the expansion draft is I ran a dream draft and stopped it after 16 rounds. Whichever players were not selected I considered them “unprotected.” I picked six players, mainly for speed and defense, to help fill out my roster. However, I did force myself to start two rookies (grey-bars), three is you count my DH. I also have one Grey-bar in my starting rotation and my bullpen, minus Lindstrom, are all grey bars.
