The top tennine in batting average and home runs are completely disjoint sets. That’s odd. No clear cut MVP candidate from the looks of it.

that is really odd. my money would be on either -

Lee Helmey (1st in hits, 1st in SB, 3rd in AVG)
Pat Hayden (1st in HR, 1st in RBI)
or maybe Bryce Harper (2nd in HR, 2nd in RBI)

United Baseball League News

8/11/2016

The season is getting closer to the end with a still wide range of possibilities, The Patriot League still has 10 possible teams for the only playoff slots. The Central Division is getting more competitive as Omaha is on the hot streak and inching behind New Orleans and Iowa City. The Montreal Reapers after some smooth trades by GM Demarlo Hale, and stellar play by the team is putting them only four games behiend the Scranton Wildcats who have lead the division all year to this point. The Toledo Lions have slipped out of contention it seems like after having a strong first half, but remember anything can happen.

Players of the Week

Patriot League
Andruw Jones (Denver)
.529 AVG 3 HR 8 RBI

Salvador Perez (San Jose)
.400 AVG 3 HR 8 RBI

Just to give full stat Lines for these guys as of now

Pat Hayden (Tuscon)
AVG .299
H 121
2B 24
3B 2
HR 29 (1st in league)
RBI 111 (1st in league)
R 61
OBP .370
SLG .583 (3rd in League)
SB 9

Bryce Harper (Las Vegas)
AVG .307
H 117
2B 26
3B 4
HR 29 (1st in League)
RBI 100 (2nd In League)
R 69
OBP .416(3rd in League)
SLG .625
SB 15

Lee Helmey (Portland Venom)
AVG .339 (3rd in League)
H 149 (1st in League)
2B 32 (2nd in League)
3B 20 (1st in League)
HR 3
RBI 49
R 85
OBP .401
SLG .523
SB 46 (1st in League)

Honestly The best odd of these three out of my opinion would be Pat Hayden,

If anyone is curious about player stats just ask I know I don't do full reports on every player cause it just be bogged down post and boring.

no yeah that's totally fair

I think Harper has the best offensive line (.307/.416/.625 is pretty tough to beat), but Helmey's 46 SB may give him the edge. Hayden's having a good year but I think his HR and RBI are outshadowed by the fact that he's beat by the other two in pretty much every other category.

Id say Harper then Hayden. Hemley isn't close in my opinion. 3 HR's is nowhere close to enough

August is almost over and the race for the playoffs get tighter, teams like the Tuscon Dirt Devils are losing out on their divisional stake, dropping five along the way to benefit the Honolulu Bluefins as the new division leaders. The Tennessee Hornets are also in rare form the first team to 80 wins and looks like they could push for a 100 if they try.
