My guess is that Preston and Matt will have a falling out and they will be rivals, but then they will make up setting up a buddy cop comedy for D-Tigers to write. |

October 2nd, 2014 On the day of the draft, I was hardly prepared. After hastily hiring one scout after our meeting on Tuesday, I had received very brief scouting reports on each player that was available. I hoped Greene was as ill-prepared as I was, but I had a feeling he had been the GM of the Dolphins for much longer than three days. When I arrived at the private, untelevised draft, it was just me, Greene, and John Mason there. Mason explained that there would a coin toss to determine who got the first pick. I chose tails, won the toss, and immediately selected Jose Medrano, a Venezuelan shortstop who is an absolute baseball Genius. Greene got the next two picks and picked Eddie Cicotte, an excellent knuckleballer, and Sylvester Coddmeyer III, a power hitting center fielder with respectable fielding abilities. It wasn't long before the draft was over. I ended up with 12 fielders and 13 pitchers: Fielders Pos - Name, B/T, DoB - TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES C - Matt McCarthy, L/R, 6/5/92 - 3, B, A, D, B, D, D (AgentP) C - Patrick Warr, L/R, 4/13/91 - 3, D, B, F, D, F, F 1B - Juan Hernandez, L/L, 6/26/91 - 3, B, B, E, D, E, D (ZeroGibson13) 2B - Steve Bernard, R/R, 4/21/93 - 2, D, E, C, D, C, C 2B/3B - Matt MacKenzie, R/R, 6/3/95 - 2, E, E, D, C, D, C (maccrash21) 3B/C - Donnie Wilde, R/R, 1/17/91 - 3, D, D, D, C, D, D SS/3B/2B - Jose Medrano, R/R, 10/31/92 - 3, A, D, B, A, A, A (Paul McCartney15) LF - Marcus McElroy, L/R, 2/12/90 - 2, C, E, C, E, C, D (BrewersFuzz) LF/CF/RF - Danny Millwood, R/R, 10/3/94 - 3, D, E, C, D, D, E CF - Colin Raines, S/R, 1/4/92 - 2, E, F, B, C, B, D RF/1B/LF - Derek Wayne, L/R, 10/26/93 - 3, C, B, E, A, D, B (SkittleMonster) RF - Roy Schapp, R/R, 4/26/92 - 3, E, C, D, D, E, D Pitchers Role - Name, B/T, DoB - Top Speed, CTRL, STAM - Breaking balls SP - Brendan Bikowski, L/L, 3/10/92 - 91, D, B - CUT, CB, PALM SP - Charlie Huff, R/R, 1/16/95 - 94, C, B - SLD, SCB, CHG, SPLT SP - Akinori Otsuka, L/L, 9/2/92 - 89, E, A - SLD, CUT, SCB, V-SLD, KN, SC, SHU (AgentP) SP - Johnny Rivera, R/R, 11/17/92 - 92, C, B - 2SFB, ORIG(SLD), CB SP - Michael Davis, R/R, 5/14/94 - 93, D, B - SLD, CHG SP - Cesario Castillo, R/R, 8/25/90 - 94, F, B - KNCB, CHG, FORK RP - Paul Casey, R/R, 3/29/95 - 91, C, D - CB, CHG RP - Evan Lorrier, L/L, 10/6/90 - 93, D, E - SLD, SLV, CHG RP - Devin Edwards, R/R, 7/19/89 - 94, C, E - SLD, CHG, SIFB RP - Viet Trieu, R/R, 4/2/92 - 88, B, E - CHG, SIFB (maccrash21) SU - Adam Wilson, R/R, 5/31/88 - 100, E, E - H-SLD, CHG (Powerprosfan31) SU - Mike Colyer, R/R, 8/16/93 - 90, C, E - ORIG(SLD), CHG CP - Rick Allen, R/R, 7/15/95 - 96, C, E - SLD, CHG, SNK (test99) So far, what we know about these players is fairly vague, but by the start of the season we should definitely know a lot more about their specific strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies. I'm more excited about baseball than I have been in a long time. --------------------------------------------------- If anyone wants to be an agent, now is the time. You may select two players to represent. |
