You need one more? If so, I'll take it.

Fine by me!

Sorry I didn't get the roster up last night. I got busy and my brother was using the TV for youtube.

Roster update!

-----------------------------

Baltimore Orioles Front Office
January 24, 2008

A week later, Jeff walked into the office with a lot more confidence than last time, ready to begin his job for real. Again, Tina showed Jeff to Mr. MacPhail's office, where the two men greeted each other warmly before sitting down and beginning their meeting.

"Mr. Harvey," MacPhail said, "I want to begin this meeting by giving you the roster. Here it is." As he said this, he handed Jeff a piece of paper, displaying the roster along with letter-grade evaluations for the players' abilities.

Just figured I'd let you know, Anthony, Great Johnson is Kevin Millar, and Great Thompson is Jamie Walker.

Assuming as the pitching coach I should recommend which practice everyone does.

SP Daniel Cabrera 98 mph, D Ctrl, A Stam, SLD 1, CB 3, CHG 2: Slider

SP Jeremy Guthrie 98 mph, C Ctrl, B Stam, SLD 3, CB 2, CHG 2: Changeup

SP Steve Trachsel 90 mph, D Ctrl, B Stam, 2SFB 2, SLD 2, CB 2, CHG 2, SPLT 2: 2 Seamer (Because it's deadly at 3, imo)

SP Adam Loewen 93 mph, F Ctrl, B Stam, H-SLD 1, CB 2, CHG 2: Curveball

RP Matt Albers 93 mph, D Ctrl, C Stam, SLD 2, CB 3, CHG 1: Curveball

RP Troy Patton 88 mph, F Ctrl, C Stam, SLD 2, CB 1, CHG 1: Fastball speed

RP Brian Burres 90 mph, D Ctrl, D Stam, SLD 1, CB 2, CHG 2: Slider

RP Dennis Sarfate 98 mph, E Ctrl, E Stam, SLD 3: Slider

RP Jim Hoey 97 mph, E Ctrl, E Stam, SLD 3, CHG 1: Changeup

RP Chad Bradford 83 mph, B Ctrl, E Stam, 2SFB 2, SLD 2, CHG 1, SIFB 4: Fastball speed

RP Great Thompson 88 mph, B Ctrl, E Stam, 2SFB 2, SLD 3, CB 2, CHG 2: 2 seamer

CP George Sherrill 93 mph, B Ctrl, E Stam, DCB 2, CHG 2: Drop curveball

RP Jim Johnson 92 mph, F Ctrl, E Stam, CB 2, CHG 2: Curveball

RP Greg Aquino 96 mph, E Ctrl, E Stam, SLD 2, CHG 1: Changeup

SP/RP Randor Bierd 88 mph, F Ctrl, E Stam, SLD 2, CB 2, CHG 3, SPLT 2: He'll be a relief pitcher, stamina is too hard and long to develop ingame. Splitter

RP Rocky Cherry 88 mph, D Ctrl, E Stam, SLD 1, CHG 2: Changeup

RP Fernando Cabrera 95 mph, E Ctrl, E Stam, CB 4, SPLT 4: Call him up, imo. 95mph and two 4 pitches are too good to be in AAA. Work on control.

RP Danys Baez 96 mph, D Ctrl, E Stam, 2SFB 2, CB 2, SPLT 2: Splitter

RP Chris Ray 98 mph, C Ctrl, E Stam, SLD 2, SPLT 2: Splitter

Recommended Rotation:

1. SP Jeremy Guthrie 98 mph, C Ctrl, B Stam, SLD 3, CB 2, CHG 2 (Less stamina, better pitches to surprise batters than Cabrera.)
2. SP Daniel Cabrera 98 mph, D Ctrl, A Stam, SLD 1, CB 3, CHG 2
3. SP Steve Trachsel 90 mph, D Ctrl, B Stam, 2SFB 2, SLD 2, CB 2, CHG 2, SPLT 2
4. SP Adam Loewen 93 mph, F Ctrl, B Stam, H-SLD 1, CB 2, CHG 2
5. SP Matt Albers 93 mph, D Ctrl, C Stam, SLD 2, CB 3, CHG 1 (Get a pitcher with at least B stamina, he'll only make it into the 6th or 7th if he has a couple of 5-9 pitch innings.)

I agree on that.

I'm enjoying this log and wanted to add my 2 cents:

Prediction wrote:
SP Jeremy Guthrie 98 mph, C Ctrl, B Stam, SLD 3, CB 2, CHG 2: Changeup

With that fastball, I bet the change and curve are already effective. I'd probably focus on the slider.

Prediction wrote:
SP Steve Trachsel 90 mph, D Ctrl, B Stam, 2SFB 2, SLD 2, CB 2, CHG 2, SPLT 2: 2 Seamer (Because it's deadly at 3, imo)

Totally agree!

Prediction wrote:
RP Matt Albers 93 mph, D Ctrl, C Stam, SLD 2, CB 3, CHG 1: Curveball

I'd probably focus on the slider to get him 2 level 3 pitches

Prediction wrote:
RP Brian Burres 90 mph, D Ctrl, D Stam, SLD 1, CB 2, CHG 2: Slider

I'd probably work his curve. Personally, I generally can't pitch effectively if I'm throwing in the 80s with level 2 pitches

Good call re calling him up, but I wouldn't bother with control. I've got Harden with a level 5 splitter and it's awesome!

Prediction wrote:

Not the 2SF?

McJordanson is waiting for instructions on what to do, captain.

Great Johnson is a beast. And so is Bryan Roberts. In this game, at least.

Yeah, probably should get Guthrie to learn the slider, anyways for Danys Baez, I like the splitter over the 2 seamer because it goes at the same speed or just slower, and it has more break. Once the splitter is a 3 then the 2 seamer should get worked on.

Don't have any just yet. Already looking to sign SP Chuck James to a deal, and then promoting few guys because I hadn't done it yet.

Also, Guthrie's changeup is level 1, and I want Cabrera as my ace because of stamina.

Thanks for the help, Prediction and ERISA.

Does my hitting coach have any suggestions?

Great White, 2b/LF was a great FA signing for me. Es on offense and Ds (I think) on defense, making him, arguably, better than your current backups at that spot. During Spring, he learned RF & CF, and he upped his defense to C, making him a nice defensive backup. He's the only 2008 FA position player, other than Dan Johnson, who's still useful for me. Chavez, with his B 3b arm, might also be a nice pick up.

Thanks, ERISA! I might get him and teach him SS because of the weakness there, or I may trade for a SS during the season. Johnson is a good one to have, but I don't want to sign any older players. I want to take a youthful approach, and Chuck James fits the bill.
