*Telephone rings inside of a small trailer somewhere in Utah*

Oscar: Hello.

?: Hello, is this Oscar Crowe?

Oscar: Yes it is, may I ask who you are?

?: Yes you may, I am multi-billionaire, Ethan Forbes, I am calling about a new baseball league I am starting, because everyone knows the MLB is going down the drain once the new commissioner takes over next year.

Oscar: Okay, well what about it? what does this have to do with me?

Ethan: Well, I was wondering, since you were a great MLB player for a really long time, and I have heard that you always wanted to manage a team but the opportunity never came up, if you would like to manage one of the teams for my league? and as luck would have it, it's going to be right in your home state of Utah.

Oscar: Wow this is so sudden, i'd have to think about it, this is a lot to take in.

Ethan: well of course, take all the time you....*a loud noise that sounds alarming close to screaming interrupts Ethan mid sentence.*

Oscar: I'LL TAKE IT, I'll TAKE IT.

Ethan: Well alright, this is very good news, i'm happy to have you aboard. You will be managing a team called the Utah Yetis, here right this number down, 555-2489. Thats the number to the owner of your team, I've known him for a long time and he expects nothing but the best from his teams so I hope you're up for the challenge.

Oscar: Thanks Mr.Forbes, i'll call him right away.

*Oscar hangs up the phone and looks around his room in a daze, trying to take in what had just happened, his lifelong dream had just came true in a flash. Oscar then flops onto his bed, his heart pounding as if he had just finished a marathon, he picks the phone back up and with his hands trembling, he carefully dialed the number that Ethan Forbes had given him*

Oscar: Hello, is this the owner of the Utah Yetis?

Jacob: Yes it is, this is Jacob Hunter.

Oscar: Hey Mr.Hunter, this is Oscar Crowe, I just got off the phone with Ethan Forbes, i'm going to be the manager for your new team.

Jacob: Oh yes, Mr.Hunter, I have heard a lot about you, and I must say, from what people say, you were a heck of a ball player back in your day.

Oscar: Yea I guess I was okay.

Jacob: Well if you're going to be the manager of my team, we have to get some things straight, I don't expect anything but the best from my teams.

Oscar: So I've heard...

Jacob: What was that?

Oscar: Ummm, Nothing sir.

Jacob: Okay, well since you are going to be my manager, you have to agree to meet my expectations every year, and if you don't meet all of them, I will be forced to fire you, do you understand Mr.Crowe.

Oscar: Yes I do, what are your expectations?

Jacob: Don't worry about it now, i'll fax you two documents, one being the contract that you must sign and hand deliver to me once you arrive for spring training, and another one that lists the players on the team.

Oscar: Ok, thanks for your time and this opportunity, i'll see you later.

*Oscar Crowe is dozing off in his new office when suddenly a hard knock wakes him up*

Oscar: WHAT?!? WHOS THERE?!?!?!

?: It's me, Jacob.

Oscar: Oh, Jacob come in.

Jacob: You know i'm not paying you to sleep Oscar.

Oscar: I'm sorry sir, it's just, I can't sleep. All i'm thinking about is opening day and what line up to use.

Jacob: AH, i'm glad you mentioned that Oscar, because that is the very reason I came down here in the first place, I need the opening day line up and a list of the starting rotation.

Oscar: But, i'm not even half way done with the player evaluations, I need more time, and the season is almost a month away, why do you need it now?

Jacob: I'm not sure, but I was told by Mr.Forbes that I needed to get the line up cards today and mail it to his office. So give me what you've got and just pray that it's good enough.

Oscar: Okay fine.*Oscar hands over a crumbled up sheet of paper that is stained with fresh drool*

Jacob: Really, drooling on your first ever line up card? I expect a lot better out of your Oscar. Well lets take a look anyways.

*Oscar Crowe's cell phone begins to ring after a hard fought 3-0 road win against the New England Crabs*

Oscar: Hello

Jacob: Hello Oscar, how is my favorite manager doing?

Oscar: Sir, i'm your only manager.

Jacob: All the more reason for you to be my favorite then, so hows my team doing?

Oscar: You're the owner of the team, aren't you watching the games on T.V.?

Jacob: I am a very busy man Oscar, I barely have time to get dressed in the morning. Now tell me, how's the team doing?

Oscar: Well we are 9-8 right now, and 1 game back of first place in our division.

Jacob: Thats not what I wanted to hear Oscar, I gave you this job because I thought you would take our team to the top.

Oscar: Sir with all due respect it's only 17 games into my first season as a manager, It's going to take some time.

Jacob: Yea I guess you're right, So do any players on our team stand out to you?

Oscar: Yes, a couple have shown flashes of greatness, and we have one kid who is absolutely amazing, Jinya Kishi, our starting Shortstop currently has a batting average of .493 and is a very fast lead off batter.

Jacob: Wow, he is almost batting .500!, thats crazy, who else stands out?

Oscar: well the starting 2nd baseman Reggie Halter is currently riding a 12 game hitting streak and has an average of .288 on the year, and starting pitcher Wade Peacock is probably the best pitcher in the league with a 3-0 record and a 0.58 ERA.

Jacob: Well it looks like we have some all-stars on our team, has anyone disappointed you ability wise?

Oscar: Just one player, Starting left fielder Arnold Wiggins is in a bit of a slump, although he has an excellent arm, he is only batting .200, but he does lead the team with 2 home runs.

Jacob: I know it's early, but is there anyone on the team you're looking to trade away for someone else? you remember my contract, you have to trade at least one player per year.

Oscar: Yes, I remember, and actually yes I have already made a deal with a team to trade starting catcher Ivan Ordaz to the Raptors, although the deal is not set in stone yet I have been told by their owner that they will accept the offer in a few days.

Jacob: Okay, well I'll be checking up on you every now and then, and oh Oscar, if Ordaz has been traded, you need to tell him ASAP.

*After a close 5-4 win over the Crabs, Oscar Crowe walks into the visiting teams locker room and looks for starting catcher, Ivan Ordaz*

Oscar: ORDAZ!

Ordaz: Yes Mr.Crowe?

Oscar: Can I see you in my office please?

*As Ordaz walks towards the office, the locker room fills with sounds of whispering and looks of confusion, Ordaz finally reaches the office and the door closes behind him*

Oscar: Sit down please Ivan.

Ordaz: ummm, What exactly is this about?

Oscar: Well this isn't easy for us, we think you're really talented, we really do...but you have been traded to the San Jose Raptors.

Ordaz: What...? sir....surely you have to be joking.

Oscar: I am sorry, but this is just business.

Ordaz: But you just made me the starting catcher like a week ago? I won the starting job and now you're trading me? I just bought a house right here in Utah, what am I going to tell my family? The moving truck is still outside of my driveway as we speak.

Ocar: I know this must be hard for you, and it's hard for me too but you have to understand that sometimes hard decisions just have to be made.

Ordaz: I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. I WOULD UNDERSTAND IF I WASN'T A STARTER BUT YOU GAVE ME THE STARTING SPOT, WHY WOULD YOU TRADE ME?

*in a fit of rage, Ivan Ordaz grabs a baseball bat that was sitting in the corner of the office closest to him, he then raises the bat over his head and swings it as hard as he can at one of the office windows*

Oscar: SECURITY!

*A few security guards come rushing into the room and grab the bat from Ordaz, they then tie his hands behind his back with a rope and escort him out of the room, as he is being escorted out, Ordaz begins shouting, "YOU'LL BE SORRY FOR THIS CROWE, YOU'LL ALL BE SORRY!"

Oscar: Wow, I hope I never have to make a trade again.

Ivan Ordaz finishes his career with the Yetis with a .226 batting average and 2 RBIs in just 10 games with the team.

*As the plane lands in Utah from a 5 game road trip, Oscar gets a phone call from The owner, Jacob Hunter*

Jacob: Hey Oscar, it's 20 games into the season now, and I think it's time for the first player evaluations of the year, fax me the current starting line up and all of the players stats, plus the starting rotation and their stats. Also, I saw on TV that the team is now 11-9 but still in 2nd place. We need to improve on that.

*Oscar took a deep breath, and thought long and hard about telling Mr.Hunter off about how he needed to give him more time to work with the team, but ended up biting his tongue*

Oscar:....Yes sir, i'll get on that right away.

*As the team heads to board the plane to go off on a 6 game road trip, Oscar Crowe gets yet another phone call from Jacob Hunter*

Jacob: Hello Oscar, I have recently been informed that the team will be going on a 6 game road trip

Oscar: Yes that is right...

Jacob: Well since I am the owner, I feel like it is my duty to go watch my team play every now and again, so I would like to join the team and watch the next 6 games, you are always telling me how I need to be more involved right?

Oscar: Finally, you can see all my hard work pay off.

Jacob: To test your abilities as a manager, and to make watching 6 baseball games a little bit more fun for me, i'm going to give you a set of goals to meet, if you meet at least 4 of my goals, I will buy the team some much needed practice equipment.

Oscar: How professional of you sir....what are the goals?

Jacob:
1.You must win 4 out of 6 games on the road trip.
2.You can't let the opposing team score more than 5 runs in one game
3.You must get at least 6 hits per game
4.You must score at least one run per game.
5.Two pitchers must get quality starts during the road trip.

Meet at least 80% of these goals and i'll buy the team some practice equipment of your choice. See you on the road Oscar, and don't let me down.

As many of you may have noticed, this log is dead. I kinda got bored with having a bunch of pitchers throwing in the mid 80's and getting 15-20 hits a game, I'm currently in the process of updating my rosters to the 2013 season, after I get done with that I plan on starting a 2013 Houston Astros log.
