Seattle Mariners (30-20) @ Tampa Bay Rays (19-31)

Mariners win on go-ahead homerun by Adrian Beltre

Rays: 4
Mariners: 5

Win: Robbins (1-0) (first major league win)
Save: Dickey (13)
Loss: Howry (0-2)
HR: C. Pena (9)
B.J. Upton (7)
Gomes (7)

Ibanez (9)
Beltre (12)

St. Petersburg -- A rough night for the Rays, as they succumb to the American League West leading Seattle Mariners. Ace Scott Kazmir took the mound and pitched a great eight innings, giving up just three runs, all on a Raul Ibanez three run blast, and they were in line for the win until the top of the ninth. Up 4-3, Bob Howry had been the most reliable reliever in the bullpen, and had saved just seven games, but hasn't had many opportunities. Orlando Hudson, the free agent signee by the Mariners last offseason lead off with a single, no worries thought the closer, however there was much to worrie, on a 1-2 count he hung slider in the bottom half of the zone which Adrian Beltre ripped, however after the game there was controversy that Dioneer Navarro had been working with Beltre, and tossed up his own ball for Beltre to hit, two balls are clearly visible in the picture we show to you, it is unknown what will occur for the two. Jason Hammel will be making a spot start tomorrow as Edwin Jackson is on the disabled list, catch him and your Rays as they attempt to beat the Mariners again.

Scott Kazmir (8 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 1 SO)
Carlos Pena (1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI)

Shaun Marcum (4 & 1/3 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 0 SO)
Adrian Beltre (2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI)

Record: (33-20)

1st: Seattle Mariners (33-20)
2nd: Los Angeles Angels (30-23)
3rd: Oakland Athletics (27-26)
4th: Texas Rangers (23-30)

Sweet special effects on Beltre going oppo. My client, Mr. Elijah Dukes would appreciate something similar, perhaps of him punching a mime or clown at his nephew's birthday party. The party is Saturday at 11:00 am. Don't be late.

Is that an arm/fist or a truck-stop bathroom stall peenus?

Either way, it's awesome. Mr. Dukes is very happy.

There's no way that was a slider, it moved inside to Beltre, as a 2-seamer (or other similarly moving pitch) might.

Huh, I guess I wasn't paying attention, I thought it was a slider for sure.

Seattle Mariners (33-20) @ Texas Rangers (23-30)
May 28th, 2009.

Rangers lose in fifteen inning affair

Rangers: 15
Mariners: 17

Win: Fuentes (3-2)
Save: X
Loss: Benoit (0-1)
HR: Blalock (7)
Kinsler (4) (5)

Guerrero (14) (15)
Beltre (13) (14) (15)
Ibañez (10) (11) (12)
Fields (8) (9)
R. Paulino (6)

Arlington -- It was a tough luck loss for the Texas Rangers today, as they fall to the first place Mariners. It looked to be a blowout for the Mariners today, up 8-1 at one point, Homer Bailey had pitched a gem, he was removed after surrendering four runs, only one was earned however. With the score at 8-4, Brandow Morrow came into the ball game, recording just one out he surrendered four runs to tie the game up, and give the home crowd a reason to smile. On our side, Jesse Litsch whom was recently acquired from the Blue Jays pitched five innings while surrendering four runs, enough of the pitching now, as it was not a pitchers duel after the eighth. The Mariners had many opportunities to win the game, however, a tough Rangers team kept fighting and tied the game whenever they were, down, this had to come to an end however, as in the fifteenth, after a Vladimir Guerrero homerun, Brian Fuentes shut down the surging Rangers offence. The Seattle Mariners hit a franchise high 11 homers during the ball game, with four people coming up with multi homerun games for the ball club, it was not a night to forget for Seattle, for Texas fans...well, the same cannot be said. Catch the Rangers clash with their division rivals Seattle as they hope to make up some ground after an unfortunately poor start to the season.

Jesse Litsch (5 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 1 SO)
Ian Kinsler (3-7, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 2 R)

Homer Bailey (7 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 0 SO)
Adrian Beltre (4-7, 1 2B, 1 BB, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 5 R)

Record: (36-20)

1st: Seattle Mariners (36-20)
2nd: Los Angeles Angels (30-26)
3rd: Oakland Athletics (29-27)
4th: Texas Rangers (23-33)

Los Angeles Angels (30-26) @ Seattle Mariners (36-20)
June 1st, 2009.

Mariners win eighth consecutive in pitchers duel

Mariners: 3
Angels: 2

Win: Cook (5-2)
Save: Dickey (14)
Loss: K. Escobar (2-3)
HR: X

Seattle -- A valiant effort by the Angels, but to no avail. As the Seattle Mariners shut them down with rock-hard pitching and sponge soft fielding, the club committed four errors during the game but managed to limit the damage and still win 3-2. Aaron Cook took the mound coming off a great start in which he went seven strong getting the quality start. On the offensive side, just as good. Vladimir Guerrero and Adrian Beltre did okay, but the stars of the team were outshined by role players such as Elijah Dukes, and Ronny Paulino, the two both went 3-4, Dukes had no RBI, but Ronny drove in the game winning RBI, with a two-run single in the seventh, that would be all the Mariners needed as after Aaron Cook left, Brian Wilson pitched a solid inning to set-up the game for R.A. Dickey, who got his 14th save of the season.

Aaron Cook (7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 SO)
Ronny Paulino (1-3, 2 RBI, 1 BB)

Kelvim Escobar (6 & 2/3 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 SO)
Gary Matthews Jr. (2-4, 2 2B, 2 R)

Record: (38-21)

1st: Seattle Mariners (38-21)
2nd: Los Angeles Angels (31-28)
2nd: Oakland Athletics (31-28)
4th: Texas Rangers (24-35)

holy crap, i just drafted the best player ive ever seen with the thirteenth pick. anyways, better make it look formal.

Mariners acquire three pitchers in draft, sign undrafted free agents

Seattle -- What a day for the Mariners! Seattle drafted three pitchers in the 2009 draft as opposed to just two from last year. Their first rounder was a special pick, we're surprised he didn't go first overall. His name is Snead, here's his scouting report.
Snead: (C CTRl, B STAM, 4 SLD, 2 CUT, 2 CB, 3 PALM, 2 FORK, 94 MPH)

Quite a special pick, we know, they then drafted Figueroa, and Budzinski as well as undrafted free agents Sparks, Bittner, and Cancel, their scouting reports are below.

holy crap best draft ever.

Figueroa: (F CTRL, C STAM, 3 CUT, 3 SLD, 93 MPH)
Budzinski: (E CTRL, C STAM, 3 FORK, 2 SLD, 1 CB, 92 MPH)
Sparks: (F CTRL, C STAM, 1 2SFB, 2 SLD, 1 FORK, 85 MPH)
Bittner: (F CTRL, C STAM, 3 CB, 1 CUT, 89 MPH)
Cancel: (F CTRL, C STAM, 1 FORK, 3 CB, 88 MPH)

Everyone's stamina except Sneads of course is mid C, they'll be put in stamina practice.actually, Figueroa's stamina is high c, but yeah, stamina practice.

San Diego Padres (27-35) @ Seattle Mariners (40-22)
June 7th, 2009.

Mariners victorious in interleague play

Mariners: 5
Padres: 3

Win: Morrow (4-0)
Save: Dickey (17)
Loss: Wolf (2-4)
HR: Beltre (18)
Fields (10)

Kouzmanoff (1) (2) (3)

Seattle - Rookie pitcher Snead made his MLB debut on the day he was drafted, he immediately agreed to a one year contract with the Mariners and was called up the very same day. The nineteen year old pitched five innings allowing six hits on two earned runs, all of those coming off of Kevin Kouzmanoff, who had a spectacular day at the plate, hitting three homeruns and was the sole contribution to an otherwise bleak San Diego lineup. Adrian Beltre also hit his major league leading eighteenth homerun in the game. Padres starter Randy Wolf wasn't so fortunate, the veteran pitched six and a third, but gave up eight hits while giving up five earned runs to take the loss. Seattle sends Zach Duke to the mound tomorrow as they look to continue their great season.

Snead (5 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 SO)
Adrian Beltre (2-3, 1 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI)

Randy Wolf (6 & 1/3 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 4 SO)
Kevin Kouzmanoff (3-3, 3 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R)

Record: (42-23)

1st: Seattle Mariners (42-23)
2nd: Los Angeles Angels (36-29)
3rd: Oakland Athletics (34-31)
4th: Texas Rangers (26-39)
