Post subject:  Season Log: Hawaii Typhoon

I was going to try and bring back my Pelicans log, but then I remembered why I stopped playing it in the first place…. All my pitchers had C stamina and couldn’t get to the 5th,,no one in my OF was able to run down a fly ball, among other major deficiencies. So, with the new log I’m starting, I did kind of an expansion draft. Essentially I saved both expansion teams as arrange teams and “drafted” players for each team. No players were taken off of MLB rosters, all players taken were on AAA rosters, to make it fair.
My team is the Hawaii Typhoons and the other team is the Albuquerque Road Runners. I will be in the NL West, the Road Runners in the AL West and the Astros will move to the AL central.

Were these all Graybar players that you couldn't train up for whatever reason? You really can't improve OF defense while playing. It needs to be done in practice. You can upgrade speed while playing by stealing bases, but if you've got a player with speed E or lower, that's gonna be hard.

With pitchers, I won't bother training them on stamina unless they are already at 105. You can improve stamina while playing by using the player as a reliever. A starter has to go 6 or 7 innings to improve stamina, and he loses stamina if he doesn't finish the 5th, but a reliever just has to pitch 1 inning, so if I'm projecting a guy as a future starter, I'll use him as a middle reliever, and let's say I want him to start a game, but know he won't throw 5 innings, I'll have someone else pitch the 1st and then bring in the pitcher whose stamina I'm looking to protect/improve. Getting a "good catcher" helps a lot, too.

Also, if a starter would normally lose stamina because he got pulled early, he won't lose stamina if that is what he is practicing that day.
