@jag that's impressive sir. Try it with All-Star and see if its the same. The pitch speed really messes with me. I just checked and my team is 9-26 on the season, and again thats with the best guys I could muster from FOUR expansion teams. I have 4 quality starts. Best ERA is a hair under 5. Maybe the AL West hits hard, I dunno, but I get my butt beat like no other MLBPP mode has offered.

I thought powerful was a more difficult level, may be wrong though. I did put pitch speed on fast. I'll look into which other options make the A.I. better

I think I'm up to challenge, is there any way you can go 162-0?

Yeah All-Star is the second highest level. Powerful the highest, from what it looks like. Jag…I mean, we've both played this game for a long time, but I don't think anyone could even go over .500 in a first-season expansion team with those settings. The pitch speed and manual fielding pretty much ensure you'll be goofing things up and giving away runs/outs. I've used a lot of luck to go 10-30, lol.

I won a World Series in my first year with an expansion team while simming once, though this was after about a dozen times using AOWs method on how to get better players.

Okay so my Wildboys squad was just going to frustrate me - it was impossible. So I am going to do the same thing again, but compiling MORE expansion team talent, and using ZERO created players (Amarista playing CF/SS was too powerful, and he led my team in homers too).

I started over, with the Honolulu Heroes (although I gave them Panpaka Park, ugh) and did my method to cycle through the best guys from like 8 or 10 teams. At this point I have some great pitching - everyone throws 92mph, with two relievers in the 96-97mph range. I have like 6 1B/3Bs with good power (C+), one crazy 1B, Hietpas, with 170 power (!!). Thats the highest I've ever seen for a generated expansion player.

2Bs are always easy to get with decent vitals - I even nailed one with Contact Hitter, which is great. Shortstop was tougher, but the 6th or 7th team had a guy, Cust, with D contact and power. Catchers with D/D were pretty easy, so I have two plus another guy Pettyjohn with good arm (C.) Outfielders…well, it was so bad, I had to use one guy, Borland, who was an E/C/D/D/D/D from the Wildboys squad. Then I got a decent CF in Stultz with Ds across the board. RF had to settle for a, E/D/D guy.

These guys have better defense though, and it has paid off. I am nailing more plays, more double plays, sliding for catches…having a 3B with am arm of D means I can actually make some plays with him! I am 5 games in - 2 against the other expansion squad (poor saps), and 3 against Toronto. I am 4-1! This is incredible!

If April leaves me with that good of a record (over .600) then I will up the difficulty to Powerful.

Hey! So people do use my players! :D

Amarista led your team in dingers? He only had like 96 Power in my version, correct?

Btw, AOW, how did your 2008 project turn out? Do you still need more players made? I'd gladly help out if that's the case.

I was being sarcastic.

But AOW, if you need more players, I'd be happy to help.

No, I wouldn't. AOW has had a project going that I don't know if he's finished with or not. So please be respectful of that.

AOW, some guys I can make for you off the top of my head (after viewing your list):
Justin Turner, Parnell, Mike Carp, Mayberry Jr.

EDIT: EYJ too!

Do you even know what being respectful means? I'm leaving this up to AOW's discrection, if he ever visits this forum and views this page again :)

Hey LGM. Yeah Amarista was close to the lead in singers - he had 3, I think my team leader was 3B Mattison with 4 actually. It was weird because the other OF I used had higher power, but Amarista got a few of those grooved down-the-middle pitches and was always there to smack 'em out. Maybe a few blue abilities helped with that? He was hitting like .365 too, on my sad lineup, haha.

You can always make more realistic players, that'd be great, but I've kinda given up on the project. With the rosters being a full 7 years behind, and kind of sucking for 2008 anyway….with so many guys playing today being way beyond their 2008 capabilities, or too young to even create since their birthdays are after 1990, and with available spots for players in memory vanishing fast, it's kind of a dead duck to me. I filled out most of the rosters as much as I can, so I can play a 2008-era game with a lot of the young arms and young fielders present on the right rosters.

It's great to see CarGo as an Athletic, or be shutout by Hellickson on the Rays, or see a young Altuve pop up as player of the week. I may get back into it if I do a true Season mode from the GM perspective, and take on a team with like ZERO success-created players (like the Indians, unless Tomlin/Sipp/Huff have been made) and try to finagle trades to make them relevant. Maybe I'll get back to making a few myself if some time off presents itself, or if the Wii U lets you play on the handheld device, so I can play while the wife watches netflix. Does anyone know if that works for MLBPP??

Could someone explain to me how to do this? I don't get how to move players from one expansion team to another... :?
