So, this game was amazing, but I lost the box score, so I'll just do my best to recap it.

Game 2 vs. Los Angeles Angels
April 5th, 2014

Los Angeles: 2 (2-2)
Oakland: 3 (4-0)

W - Luke Gregerson 1-0 0.00 ERA
L - Joe Smith 0-1 10.80 ERA
HR - Albert Pujols (1), Nate Freiman (1), Josh Reddick (1)

Oakland -- The Athletics just played an amazing game. The late game heroics were on point today for the A's after A.J. Griffin pitched a solid outing, giving up 1 run through 5 and 2/3 innings, on a J.B. Shuck RBI single. Coco Crisp got an RBI single for the A's to tie it in the 7th, at the end of Tyler Skaggs' night. Skaggs was still win eligible after Pujols' solo homer, making it 2-1. In the ninth, Joe Smith came on for the save opportunity. He quickly knocked the A's hopes out by getting Donaldson and Cespedes out. Next up, was the hot Nate Freiman. Smith got him down to an 0-2 count, but Freiman was not done yet, smashing a solo home run to left field. Smith blew the save, but could still send this one to extras. That was until, the next batter, Josh Reddick, smashed a walk-off solo homer to left.

L - Garrett Richards 0-1 15.00 ERA
HR - Mike Trout 3(1,2,3), Albert Pujols (2), Josh Reddick (2)

Oakland -- The Athletics ended their home stand with a bang tonight as they had a slugfest winning 10-6 over the Angels. Jesse Chavez did not pitch a good game, throwing 4 innings allowing 4 runs, leaving early with elbow pain. Jim Johnson picked him up though, throwing 3 solid innings out of relief allowing 1 run, getting the win. The A's offense was on fire though, which picked up Chavez's poor outing. Josh Reddick hit another solo home run, his 2nd of the year. The other RBI's belonged to the following players: Lowrie(3), Cespedes(2), Crisp, Donaldson, Norris, and Callaspo, all adding on an RBI of their own. Lowrie doubled twice, scoring 3 runs as the A's player of the game. For the Angels, Mike Trout hit the first pitch of the game out of the park for a solo home run, and tacked on an additional two homers en route to going 4-5 with 3 homers and 3 RBI. Albert Pujols also went 4-5 tacking on a solo home run of his own. The Athletics will now be traveling to Houston for a 4-game set at Minute Maid Park.

Chavez, MRI goes well

Oakland -- Jesse Chavez had his MRI for his elbow pain on Sunday, and the doctors announced that it was just a slight elbow strain, and it will only require a couple weeks to heal. Chavez was placed on the 15-day DL by Oakland. Tommy Milone was recalled by Oakland from AAA Sacramento and will be joining the team in Houton. Chavez will not require a rehab assignment after this short DL stint.

Texas: 10 (4-6)

W - Joe Saunders 1-0 7.71 ERA
L - Luke Gregerson 1-1 2.45 ERA
HR - Jurickson Profar (3), Adrian Beltre 2(1,2), Geovany Soto (3), Derek Norris 2(1,2), Yoenis Cespedes (1)

Arlington -- The Athletics bullpen absolutely blew it tonight. A.J. Griffin pitched a solid 5 innings, allowing 2 runs, setting him up for the win, with a 5-2 lead when he exited, but the A's bullpen had something else to say about it. The first victim, Drew Pomeranz pitched the sixth and gave up a solo homer to Beltre to make it 5-3. Abad came in in the seventh and things went south. Singles rallies happened, Profar bashed a 3-R bomb and all of a sudden it was tied at 8 (thanks to a three run seventh by Oakland). In the top half of the ninth, Derek Norris delivered an RBI double to take the lead 9-8. Sean Doolittle came in for the save opp. He looked good, getting two outs and getting Adrian Beltre to two strikes, but served up a meatball that Beltre knocked out of the yard for a solo homer to tie it up. Gregerson came in to finish the ninth and went out for the tenth as well. With one out in the both of the tenth, Geovany Soto came to the dish, and smashed a walk-off, solo homer over the left field wall.

A's send for bullpen help

Oakland -- The Athletics have reportedly optioned Drew Pomeranz to AAA Sacramento, and called up Evan Scribner to replace him in the bullpen. Pomeranz has struggled giving up 3 earned runs in just 1 inning pitched. Andy Parrino was also optioned to AAA Sacramento and speedy outfielder Craig Gentry was called up to compensate for the lack of fast pinch runner candidates.

Oakland -- If you don't call this game a slugfest, I don't know what is. A total of 10 home runs were hit in this game, and neither starting pitcher did well. Tommy Milone pitched 4 and 1/3 of an inning allowing 4 runs on 10 hits and getting a no decision. Matt Harrison went 2+ innings for the Rangers allowing 3 runs and 6 hits. On the hitting side, both teams ended up with 23 hits each, a total of 46 hits in the game. Geovany Soto had a productive game for the Rangers, going 4-4 with an RBI. Elvis Andrus had a solid game, going 3-6 with 3 RBI for the Rangers. J.P. Arencibia was the player of the game thanks to a walk-off home run in the ninth. For the A's, Derek Norris kept his flaming streak going, after going 5-5 with a double, 2 homers, and 5 more RBI. The A's hope to avoid a 7 game losing streak in the final game of the series, tomorrow.

Nice! Adrian Beltre with his 3rd homer of season, wish he could produce like he used to. He's in a state of decline now. I would live to see Elvis go 3-6 in a real game. He's just not producing this year.
