Post subject:  Legends For MLB PowerPros 2008 Wii

Hi there fellow Powerpros enthusiasts! My name is Spiro and I have loved Powerpros since the first time I played it at a friends house when the 2007 game came out. I was ecstatic when I got PP 2008 for my birthday and I played it regularly until 2011 came along and I got a Ps3. For the last month or so I have started to play PP again and I have been trying to create a Cooperstown/Legendary team. Unfortunately, my skills just haven't been good enough to succeed in making HOF quality players. I found my way to this fantastic forum and I looked around and found many modern players, but I was disappointed to find the lack of legends. I have a feeling that I am not alone in my desire to play with a Cooperstown team, so despite the very clear forum rules I have come here to suggest a List of players to be on that team.

Positioned Players:

Starters:

C: 1956 Yogi Berra
1B: 1927 Lou Gehrig
2B: 1925 Rodgers Hornsby
3B: 1980 George Brett
SS: 1900 Honus Wagner
LF: 2001 Barry Bonds *
CF: 1911 Ty Cobb
RF: 1921 Babe Ruth

Bench:

B1: 1972 Johnny Bench ( C )
B2: 1982 Ricky Henderson ( LF )
B3: 1955 Willie Mays ( CF )
B4: 1930 Hack Wilson ( CF )
B5: 1932 Jimmie Foxx ( 1B/3B )
B6: 1948 Stan Musial ( LF/RF )

Pitchers:

Starting Pitchers:

SP1: 1914 Dutch Leonard
SP2: 1913 Walter Johnson
SP3: 1965 Sandy Koufax
SP4: 1930 Satchel Paige
SP5: 1968 Bob Gibson

Relief Pitchers:

RP1: 2008 Mariano Rivera
RP2: 2004 Francisco Rodriguez
RP3: 1990 Dennis Eckersley
RP4: 1981 Rollie Fingers
RP5: 1966 Hoyt Wilhelm
RP6: 2012 Aroldis Chapman

I understand the gravity of this project and as an active member in the video game modification world I COMPLETELY understand if you guys refuse to make this team. If that is your choice please don't ban me, I would still like to be a member of the forums. If you decide to make a Cooperstown team but disagree with my suggested players feel free to add or remove players, though I have put a lot of thought into this list and I believe it to be the best list that can be made.

If any of you guys decide to take me up on this I would be happy to discuss individual player ratings, though you guys would likely know better than I.

* I removed all steroid users from contention to the team, but I made an exception in the case of Barry Bonds because:

1) He never tested positive for steroids and he has never been proven guilty.
2) He had perhaps the greatest offensive season of all-time.
3) He would be fun to play with in the game.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I await your feedback, thank you!

Spiro

Thank you, I appreciate your help, though I am looking for a more prime example.

This list is very cool, I appreciate your contribution Jag! Do you have an interest in helping me create this super team? As I hone in my skills I will try and crank out more and more players, but for now I am not quite good enough to make this caliper of player (as evidenced by my attempt to make a better Mariano Rivera who ended up being worse than your version).

You could get the ROM for the game and enable cheats. It'll allow you to max out a players within minutes. Only challenge is avoiding unwanted abilities, when playing games, and finishing arcs.

I've made a few solid HOF's, although I try to do a career summary rather than peak seasons.
Satchel Paige
Tony Gwynn
Cool Papa Bell
Josh Gibson
Roberto Clemente
Nap Lajoie
Mule Suttles
...maybe more guys I'm forgetting

Most of those are on the first few pages of password exchange.

I have this thought:
You have bullpen guys in your legends bullpen, but starting hitters that are on your bench.
If Willie Mays can sit the bench, then why not have great starting pitchers , in the pen?
I'm thinking of Randy Johnson as the nastiest LOOGY you could ever have to face.
Also thinking
Dwight Gooden '85 season,

:?: How about we also make another Legends team consisting of players that were not mentioned? A lot of examples would include Frankie Frisch, Lefty Grove, Lefty Gomez, Al Simmons, Ray Schalk, Mickey Cochrane, Home Run Baker, Mel Ott, Carl Hubbell, Christy Mathewson, Jim Bottomley, Tris Speaker, George Kell, Luis Aparicio, Hal Newhouser, and Hank Greenberg!
