My 9 year old son looooooves MLB Power Pros 2008! Unfortunatley, we are experiencing a reoccuring problem. I have bought two MLBPP 2008 and have had the same problem.

After over a year of trouble free use we have started experiencing problems with the MLBPP 2008. At random times in the game, when you try to go to the menu (for example to change pitchers), the menu begins to scroll rapidly and cannot be stopped, effectively ending the game. It got so bad on the first game that I took it to Hollywood video to have them buff out the scratches (which looked very minor) which did not work. After buying a second game (used is all that was available) from Game Stop, we had the same problem.

I am not into gaming so I don't know if it is the Wii unit or a flaw with the discs the games are on.
I would not mind just buying a new one because he plays the game so much but the stores no longer have new versions.

Please help, I have a very disappointed 9 year old.

Can this be fixed?

It's the contoller I think
You have to blow into the thing where you plug the contoller into the wii , it happens to me every so often

But that's only if it's a gamecube contoller, if not then I guess try other controllers

Thanks! I appreciate the tip. I actually did the same thing to my younger boy's DS yesterday and it worked when it stopped functioning. I will have him try it on the Wii.

That also happens whenever you press a direction on the control stick on the Nunchuck when the game is loading. The same thing happens on all the other games and consoles, so it's not the game, but just moving the control stick on the controller when it's loading. Hope that helps!

Yeah, what they said, really.
If you're using the wiimote and nunchuk, just unplug the nunchuk and replug it in after blowing in it or whatever.

This happens to me a lot. It also happens on PS2 after switching games. I just have to roll the joystick around a bit until it's fixed.

That happens to me alot. If you are using the wii remote and numchuk, unplug the numbchuk and plug it right bag it. It works all the time.

If it's a Wireless Gamecube controller, make sure the controller is flat and no buttons are being pressed when you turn it on. The GC Controller expects it to be in a resting position when you turn it on, so it assumes that that is the resting position. If the control stick is to the left, when you put it into a resting position it thinks it is being turned right. Just turn it off, make sure it's flat, and turn it on again. Hope this helps.
