Heya, I just signed my contract to start off my third year. I have Darryl maxed out, and after 4 rounds of negotiating all I got was 6.1Mil!!!!

Both year 1 and 2 I won PotY, with most wins (21, 26), IP (281.1, 287.2), SO (321, 356), best QS (.905. .975), ERA (0.68, 0.57), and SO/BB (64.2, 59.3).

What am I not doing wrong?

Everyone says Darryl is the best, but how do some of you guys get 20 and 30 mil contracts? How good are you guys?

Ahhh, that explains a lot. So when people are saying they get 30 mil in year 2, they meant in year 2 of free agency. Cool, now it makes sense! :D

I think year 3 is the earliast that happens. The cold reality unfourtenetly is that hitters get paid a hell of a lot more then pitchers. I got a 27 million contract in my 4th year and a 23 in my third as a hitter, but as a closer with a .5 ERA I can't approach it.

On my shortstop I got 30 million from Darryl for my 4th season in the league (no FA, 3rd contract negotiation). First year contract was base salary with Matthew, second year (first time you get to change agents/negotiate) was 2.4 mil with Darryl, third year went to 14.5 mil with Darryl, and fourth year Darryl got me 30 mil. I did do some S/L to get better numbers years 2 and 3, until I was happy with the contract offers.

So basically, it will take you three new contract years to get to top salary if you use Darryl and have good stats. You dont need to be a free agent.

I have to say this game seems to have a real bias against pitching.

I'm getting tired of having to be almost perfect just to get a ND. I seriously hope MLBPP2009 has better treatment of it's pitchers or else we will all go on strike! Yeah thats it, we'll start a MLBPP union!

Well, that is how it works realistically for some reason. I'd rather have an ace like Santana though over Jason Giambi any time, and save 8 million.

There's not. It is official as of, I don't know, October.
