So, this I decided to make an MLB Life with this guy, and decided to make a log, because why not?

Offseason:
I'm Hirokazu Oshima. I played at a prestigious Japanese school that specialized in baseball, basically. I was instantly a top prospect, leading my team to the state championship 3 times, winning all three, and never giving up a run. In a surprising move, I decided to come to the states at the age of 19 to start my Professional career.

I picked a guy named Matthew as my agent at a recommendation from a friend, several teams bid for me, but I picked the Mariners because of their Japanese ties. The contract is 1 year for $390,000, which is kind of low for someone who throws 105 MPH, but whatever. The contract included the Mariners giving me my own apartment to live in (as well as covering the cost of living there), and a Powerade for some reason.

I spent the Offseason in Seattle relaxing and working at a Peformance Institute.

Noize, in that case:

Spring Training:
I flew down to Arizona to report to Spring Training. I met the manager, who told me that the 5th spot in the rotation was open, and I'd be competing with Jarrod Washburn, Ethan Oakley (97!, E, B, 3 BB*, Gyroball, Durability 2.), and Great Cruz for it. I was kind of confused, I thought they signed me to be their fifth starter, but whatever.

After warmups, coach had us throw one fastball to the bullpen catcher to get a feel for our velocity. I wound up and threw my best fastball. Long story short, our Bullpen catcher is out for the year...

After practice, I met Oakley, who seemed like a nice guy, he made a bet with me that I was forced to accept. After practice next week, I met Mia of Power Pros Sports, Oakley seemed enamored with her, but she's really not that hot to me. She also mistaken me for Ichiro, which was kind of racist...

Our manager gathered the Rookies before the first game to make it clear what we needed to do to make the roster. My Spring Game log is as follows:
Game 1: 3 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 SO
Game 2: 3 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 3 SO
Game 3: 3 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 SO
Game 4: 3 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 SO

The Manager told me I had made the Major League roster, and Oakley, Cruz, and Washburn were optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

The coach asked me if I wanted to make a donation, so I told him $1,000 per save. I knew I wouldn't get any saves, but there was a rumor that the coach "accidently" puts in a typo to force you to donate more money. Sure enough, Mark Lowe informed me of the typo, and the coach confirmed it. Still, the coach must be really dumb if he thinks I'll get any saves.

I flew back to Seattle to prepare for the season.

April:
We began the season vs. the Rangers in Seattle. Coach wanted me to be tested out of the bullpen, as my first scheduled start was April 6; 7 days away. I came into the bottom of the 8th, with us up 4-0. I struck out the first batter I faced, but then let two runners on on two straight singles. I got out of the jam by striking out the next two batters, using my 105 MPH heater to blow it right by them. We won 4-0.

My first start was in Baltimore. I was pumped up, and got through the first five innings with ease. I ran into trouble in the sixth, giving up three straight singles and a run. My day ended giving up one run and notching 8 strikeouts, and I received the win after the team rallied in the top of the seventh. My coach gave me $100, which is 1/3 of the amount of money I need to buy a comic book.

My next start was in against the Angels in Seattle. I labored through 11 innings, striking out sixteen without giving up a run, before Miguel Cairo came through with a Walkoff double.

I didn't give up a run in my next three starts, a 5-0 win at the A's, 1-0 win vs the Orioles, and 1-0 win against the A's (again). I won Player of the Week in week four (2 W, 0.00 ERA, 27 K)

Several news stations are talking about how Felix Hernandez and I will be the "twin aces" in the Mariners future. I thought that was pretty cool.

On another note, traveling can be a pain. I've been flying all over the country, and it's two things:
1. Tiring
2. Boring

I bought a lot of "herbal medicine" (whatever that is) from the shop, it helps relieve the fatigue.

End of April Stats: 5-0, 0.21 ERA, 61 K

May:
I won Player of the Month in April! My first award!

After rolling to a 19-9 record in April, the whole team was pumped for May. We could really be a surprise team this year.

I shutout the powerful Yankees on their home turf, and then shutout the Rangers in my two starts next starts. After another shutout, vs the Tigers this time, I was 9-0. But my luck went out vs the Yankees, as they needed only one run to defeat me in a 1-0 loss. I pitched 12 2/3 in that game, with 20 strikeouts, tying the record. I rebounded with a win vs the Tigers the next week.

We went 18-10 in May, with Felix and I combining for 10 wins. It's almost a sure thing that we will win every time one of us two are on the mound.

On another note, the manager has a strange obsession with playing Willie Bloomquist in Right Field. I pointed out to him that we have Brad Wilkerson on the bench, but the dumbass is still playing Bloomquist, who is ruining our offense.

End of May Stats: 10-1, 0.26 ERA, 134 K

June:
I won POTM in May! Yay

June got off to a crappy start, I blew a 1-0 lead in the 9th vs the Red Sox, and we lost in extras. My next three starts, against the Blue Jays, Marlins, and Mets, went much better. All three were complete-game shutouts, 2-0, 1-0, and 1-0 wins (how about that run support?) My month ended on a bitter note though, with a 3-0 loss to the Padres.

In fact, the whole team played crappy this month, going 12-14, the Angels jumping over us in the standings at one point. The pitching has been less sharp, and the lineup has still sucked.

Oakley got traded on June 1 to the Cardinals for Rico Washington. I complained to the GM about that, I mean, c'mon, a kid who throws a 97 MPH Gyroball for a utility guy that won't make the roster?

Speaking of transactions, the draft was held this month. We spent our first draft pick on a 24-year-old college pitcher, Caicedo (94, E, B, 3 CB, 1 KNCB, 1 SNK, Dr. K). He seemed like a cool dude, he should be able to crack our rotation at one point. Our second pick was on a 22-year-old pitcher, Walrond (88, G, D, 1 SLD, Recovery). He's much less impressive than Caicedo, and seems like bullpen depth at best. We also signed 22-year-old undrafted free agent Cesar (93, E, C, 3 CB, 2 SLD, STR Finisher, Lucky). He was an impressive find for our GM, I think he can be a great reliever in the future.

End of June Stats: 13-2, 0.33 ERA, 195 K

July:
I won AL Pitcher of the Month in June! Again.

July got off to a good start with a 3-2 win over the Tigers, but my next start was a 1-0 loss to the A's.

I was selected as the AL's starting pitcher for the All-Star Game. Not surprising, since I lead the league in all Triple Crown categories. I pitched three innings with no runs given up, and 2 strikeouts. Our side lost despite that, 2-1, and now the NL has home-field advantage. I think that's a dumb rule, it should be based on who has the better W-L record.

My next three starts went splendidly, I beat the Indians 3-2, Red Sox 4-1, and then hurled a shutout against the Rangers in a 3-0 win.

On another note, I took a cute girl named Emma out to a restaurant on her birthday, July 25. I gave her an autographed baseball, although she didn't seem to love it...

End of July Stats: 17-2, 0.53 ERA, 252 K
