They talked, exchanged numbers and the rest is history. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Here's the 1-2 pitch from Perez," said Terry, "got him with the NO!" "0-2 pitch to Jackson, got him with a fastball that just blew by him! "Count is 3-2. Runners will be on move. The payoff pitch to Carlson, STRUCK HIM OUT! STRUCK HIM OUT SWINGING! FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR HISTORY, HOUSTON HAS WON A CHAMPIONSHIP! HOUSTON HAS WON!" The crowd just went crazy. The loudest sound you could think of couldn't match this. It was electrifying, especially for a college game. After the celebration on the field, the crowd never leaved. Instead, you could hear something: "PEREZ! PEREZ! PEREZ!" They were chanting and they wouldn't stop until they got their ace out on the field. At 5 Perez chants, he finally gave in and gave a curtain call and the place absolutely exploded. Julio was looking around the stadium in awe, when his eyes found Emma in the stands. "She said she couldn't come!" he thought. He pointed at her with a smile on his face, the kind of smile that mean't something like "You did it!" She pointed it right back. Because he had done it. |
