In my life mode, what if you tried to play as a guy who's 40+?
Do the stats decrease? are you given a "retire" function?

According to Pawapuro who played an 03 version in Japenese, he did notice his stats did slow. He entered the league at 23 and six years later he noticed he stats were not going up as fast. Give a couple more years and you will be practicing just to maintain your levels, a few more years and practice will be to slow the degression.

If this holds true for the 08 version it will prove to be a challenge in your later years just to hold onto your starting spot and high stats. It may make ya wonder how someone like Maddox or Ryan was able to pitch so late in their careers.

Pawapuro wrote a thread on the version he played. Thread was called "your in for a treat" if you wanna read it.

Thats not what I was talking about >.>

Besides I already read that article.
I mean, lets say you're playing as Rivera. Wouldn't you have to like play baseball into your 50s?

EDIT:: By the way they should have Tommy John surgery.
Boosts stamina but leaves you out a season and costs a ton of cash.

Tommy John Surgery would be an interesting choice.
