I'm in June of Year 1 already. I've improved my first ability (Power went up by 1 point finally).

This mode is pretty fun, a great alternative to playing a whole season. I'll post some of my other 'findings' in a new post.

I started in the minors, but I got to play the first few games of spring training. They told me flat out that they already had a starting 2b, so I wasn't going to start, but to keep trying. They pretty much tell you when you are 'on fire', etc. Oh - and for those looking to break the stolen base record - unfortunately you don't control your player after he hits.

The system is fun, and even as a 2b, I've made the Indians as a DH, and I've been killer. I was up around a .700 batting average for a while, now I'm down to around .560. I'm only using my player from success mode - he isn't amazing, but ok.

Pitching would be really interesting, I haven't tried that yet, but I'm really looking forward to it.

The stuff you do outside of games has a direct impact on what stats you increase. I'll post more on that in a separate topic.

Sounds like you may need to adjust the game difficulty with that batting average.

I've been 'injured' twice now - it's been kinda realistic so far!

At one point in time I drank too much powerin and I got sick. It just makes you lose vitality. Just putting that out there for people that are going to kill the powerins, and the store can run out of them.

Don't go up to expert. It gets so hard it makes you hate the game. (For a pitcher anyway.)

I've had a pitcher and I was on fire until i got to the month of June (third month in majors). In AAA, I would usually get 8-10 strikeouts each game. In MLB, I would usually get 3-5 strikeouts per game. During Spring Training, I struck out Ichiro. TWICE!
