You change your contract every year. The better you play and the more people you interact with, the more agents you meet. After each season you pick your agent. In November, you begin negotiations with your team. You don't really get to do much except to accept or decline the offer your agent is given. Sometimes the offer will increase if you don't accept the first one and sometimes it won't. Most agents let you negotiate a deal 4 times. The only one who doesn't is Jacob. IMO, don't use him. You automatically sign after the 4th negotiation whether you like the offer or not. Once the contract is signed, you pay your agent. They take a rate based on what you made the previous season. Your new contract comes into effect in January.
