No he's not. I went to college with him. It was a running gag on the baseball team.

Halfway through my third season. Anchored by a truly stellar pitching staff and the combination of Matt Holiday (.358 17 HR), Carl Crawford (.338 16 HR) and Casey Holmes (.475 31 HR 99 RBI) the Phillies are an outrageous 61-20 heading into the middle of July.

I'm still frustrated in fact I may be moreso than ever. Our team is dominating and we finally have an explosive offensive core but I keep getting taken out early in games. I don't have enough at bats to qualify for the batting title. I had two separate 15 game plus hitting streaks going that were broken up when I was taken out after one at bat. What gives coach? If a real manager were taking out a guy who's batting .475 with 31 HR the fans of that town would burn him alive.

It's been a while, here we go!

In 2010 the Phillies went an unparalleled 128-34. Casey Holmes just barely made the minimum at bats to qualify for the batting title and set a new record hitting .442. Qualifying for the batting title also gave him his second triple crown and MVP in as many years.

In spite of their success in the regular season the NLDS was no pushover. The Giants took the Phillies to 5 games as the record setting Phillies nearly blew a 2-0 lead to let the Giants pull a major upset. After edging past San Fancisco the Phillies stormed through Chicago taking the Cubs 4-1 en route to world series victory against the Tigers 4-1. Casey Holmes was named world series MVP batting .355 with 7 HR and 18 RBI.

The off season pay day for the young 3B (who is still stuck platooning at catcher thankyouverymuchPhilliesandChipperJonesyoudbagIhateyou). The Phillies signed him for 1 year $24.8 mil. (What an expensive platoon player). I bought the $100 mil mansion and Mia had my daughter 4/28/2011. We're currently in first place heading towards July on another frenetic pace. I'm still losing playing time because of platooning. I've got A skills in Golf, Culture, Darts and Fishing.

I just happened to stumble upon this. But Trich, I noticed you started a new discussion, but you should try to contribute more to this! I was just looking through it, it's pretty cool!

Ha. To be honest, I had forgotten about this while I was off playing Xbox 360. I did play out my career, at least I remember playing through it. Not sure why I stopped. When I came back to the game I started two new files. One was going to be my normal 3B, but I quickly got annoyed at being played at catcher as a 3B so I just made a catcher. I've been playing that on expert with normal or lock/1 and I've been making opposing pitching cry.

I also made a pitcher which kind of makes me cry. I've got a maxed out hard sinker (original pitch), knuckle-curve, change-up, level 3 knuckleball, and level 2 two-seam fastball. My rookie season was fun. As the opposition began to scout me more I got the somewhat realistic 23-2 record with a 1.44 ERA and 337 strike outs. I led the league in innings pitched, complete games, shutouts, and won the Cy Young.

The rub is my sophomore campaign. I'm the ace of the Phillies now and that's good because they pitched me twice in the post season and we lost the ALCS to the Astros. However, my defense is garbage, particularly in the infield. Ryan Howard is Ryan Howard over at 1B, but 2008 was before the game recognized Chase Utley as a well above average fielders instead of a well below average. Brad Harman is playing 3B and he's naturally a 2B. His fielding stats are E's across the board. And Jimmy Rollins is fine.

So, as a ground ball pitcher (as high as 6:1 groundball to fly out), I have an infield defense that can't turn a double play and if they get a deep ground ball, it's a hit. I've never wanted so badly to be traded from my favorite team. I'm two months into the season and I'm 4-3 with a 3.13 ERA because my manager refuses to call up Pedro Feliz and play him at 3B. It's pretty frustrating and I've been thinking of starting over, but maybe I'll just gut it out.
