The moderators would probably rather you not post how to overide the security features on the PS2; therefore, I suggest if anyone wants to know they should PM you for the ways.

So, to answer my question which I asked, you cannot just play Japanese games out of the box on the PS2 without overriding the security. Is this a correct statement?

That is correct, However, there are methods that DO NOT void the warranty at all. The Swapmagic method is a great example as all it does is take the little disc tray clip off the front of the PS2 Grizzly edition. Another method is a bit pricy but pays off well, buy a Japanese PS2.

As for import games, they do cost a ton, but there's plenty of domestic dealers that are good to do business with. (JapanVideoGames in CA for example)

Don't bother getting the Jap version of this game. It was a total waste of money its the exact same thing as the American version.

Actually, it's less.
  • No player edit. (Huge)
  • Players get the same generic faces. (No shades, hair, beards etc)
  • No S/L allowed in Success Mode

Japanese users are complaining how they're getting ripped off while we get the "full" version.

I guess I didn't even read the title correctly when I first read this, I thought he bought a power pros game of the japanese league. I didn't realize it was just the mlb power pros japnese version, sorry but it doesn look like it was a waste of money.

doubleday didn't invent baseball.
some other guy, Alexander Cartwright made the rules, but the British were first to play it, in the late 1700s.

Alexander Cartwright was the guy that really made the rules for Baseball. As far as baseball-like games go the Ancient Egyptians played those too.

Im pretty sure he either had to do with a baseball league back in the late 1800's, or helped come up with it. either that or my teacher lied. :P

doubleday just really took credit for the idea. and know, a parody of him is an announcer for backyard baseball!

Edit: Now that I check, we're getting really off topic.
