The problem with that is that the marketing strategy that was used here in the US was TERRIBLE. There were barely any ads, and all the ones that I did see focused entirely on the fact that the players are chibi. Not ONCE did they mention success mode, season mode, my life mode, the ability to make arrange teams, the realistic physics, etc. They only mentioned the art style, which is a turnoff for most gamers since cutsie usually = casual and casual usually = crap.

They need Vince McMahon to fire them all. Nobody else in business (apparently) has enough sense to do it.

I think the online component of this game will make it totally worth it! Can't wait to see people's impressions of this game once it comes out--I may be one who buys it also.

i'm thinking about purchasing this game as well. i would be spending most of my time playing online mode & season. how difficult do you guys think it would be to navigate through menus and whatnot in these modes if you don't know japanese?

I'm sure that by trial and error or guess and check whatever, you could figure out that for example the third option is season mode (I dont know for sure I cant read japanese, its just an example) . The sub options of season mode would be harder, like trade players, or manage salaries.

From the screen shots I've seen there appears to be Romanji beneath the Main menu options. Though it may only be for the main menu, I don't know. And from my past experiences with the Japanese Power Pros games, once you figure out what is what, it is incredibly easy to understand. Well, at least in my case. (I have no knowledge of Japanese).

And what some of you are saying is that you're going to buy the Japanese version for the PS3 although you don't speak the best Japanese? If so, I may go out and buy the 09 version for the wii as it doesn't look like '10 will have a wii version (which seems incredibly stupid since the Wii is from Nintendo, which is Japanese...)

Yes, it is from Japan, and yes I will be getting it.
And also the 2009 version for the Wii, it is stripped down, to a family friendly one.

Go with Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 15 for the Wii, much better, though older. It has more game modes, and a longer season ("Pennant") mode, and a better success mode. Get that one if you're going to get one for the Wii.

Did you do the necessary modifications to your Wii to play a Japanese game?

Didn't even know you needed mods to play it. I probably won't bother to pick it up, I have no time.

Well, good thing you didn't get it, but hey, if you ever have the time (it takes about an hour to set up) you should do it, and get the game.

Maybe I'll do it eventually. Not sure, will wait to see for American version.

anyone order the game yet? i'm still saving up some dough and want to see what the japanese speaking gamers have to say about it first before i commit. i'm regulated to playing Power Pros 08 and getting antsy waiting for a new game be it this one or an english/MLB version!
