Now as a Bears fan, you can say that they dropped off the table because of the loss of their whole outfield, their three best players, but ironically enough, their issue this year was pitching, and not their hitting. The outfielders they added did a solid job at replacing them. Of course, they didn't put up a total of 75 combined homers between the whole outfield, but they held their own with getting on base and scoring runs. Maeda has had 2 terrible seasons after starting red hot as a rookie, and the Bears are really going to need to draft pitching this year, and go after some pitchers in free agency. GM William Nathan needs to do a better job in signing the positions he needs instead of trying to replace irreplaceable players with stars.

October 16, 2014

9:04

I was in the middle of research on my computer, researching some stats on international Free Agents that I had been sent by one of my scouts Peter Smith when my phone began to ring.

*Ring-ring* *ring-ring*

"Hello?" I answered as usual

"Hey, Mr. Nathan, it's me, Toshiyuki. I've got some phenoms for you to see."

My heart began to pump very quickly as the excitement began to build

"Yeah, ok, meet at Blue Stadium at 2?"

"Yeah, that works, I'll get these guys down here right away."

13:53

I came down to the field a bit early to get another look at these so-called "phenoms". From what I could see, one was a catcher, and the other an outfielder.

"Tosh, why are we looking at a catcher? We have Lockhart."

"Uhh..wha-what? Have you not heard?"

My heart skipped a couple beats

"HEARD WHAT?" I raised my voice quite a bit

"You haven't heard that Lockhart's signing a deal with the Phillies?"

"No, I had no awareness of this whatsoever. And what? The Phillies offered Lockhart a deal? Nick Lockhart?"

"Yeah, 3 years, 20 mil. 6 mil a year."

"How? What did they see in him? But that's beside the point. Why have I not heard about this?"

"I don't know sir, I expected that Nick had already told you this."

My alarm on my phone started ringing saying it was two o'clock.

"Whatever, let's get to this. I'm gonna need to talk to Nick later," I said saltily.

I looked at the catcher and asked his name and background. Oddly enough, he had green hair with white streaks, so k was hoping this kid wasn't a nut.

"I'm Mark, I began college in the US, for a school called Powerful University, but I had to move for my parents military purpose so they took me out of the school, but then a school called Saikyo recruited me and I've developed quite a bit since then. I can also play the corners of you need me to."

"So, Mark Wiseman eh? What's with the hair?"

"To be honest, I don't even know. I thought it would be a cool idea one time, and since then I've liked it."

"Well, okay, might as well see if your skills can talk for your hair."

From what I saw, he had a bazooka for an arm, definitely the best throwing arm I've definitely seen from behind the plate, and his bat wasn't half bad either. Here was the scouting report I got from Pete after he saw Mark work out.

C/1B/3B Mark Wiseman R/R
11/27/1993 (20 years old)
TRJ (2) CON (D) POW (E) RSPD (D) ARM (S) FLD (C) ERR (C)
Vs. Lefty 5

The other guy, the outfielder, looked pretty solid also. He went by the name of Terayuki Yamato. My analysis on the kid was that he was a solid contact hitter with decent speed, an above average arm, and amazing range and glove works, but he can get a bit clumsy on easy plays.

OF Terayuki Yamato R/R
2/16/1994 (20 years old)
TRJ (3) CON (D) POW (F) RSPD (D) ARM (B) FLD (S) ERR (E)

I was very happy to acquire both of these youngsters, but still a little ticked by the lack of communication from my best friend.

That exchange system sounds really awesome.

Did Lockhart actually go to the Phillies, and if so does it tell you that?

Sapporo -- The Bears showed us a nice preview of 2016 tonight as their bats were on Fire tonight to support Sora Maeda's gem. The Bears started out rocky on offense, scoring nothing in the first two innings, but exploded for 4 in the 3rd, and 6 in the 7th, with an additional run scored in the 5th. Most of the offense came from Rudy Chirk, who homered twice and drove in 5. Gary was also 4-4, with 3 runs batted in himself. Einishi, Michizono, and Mark Wiseman all chipped in RBI's of their own. Sora Maeda pitched an absolute gem tonight. He got himself in a few jams, but ultimately pitched his way to a shutout victory, going 9, allowing 7 hits and no runs, while striking out 12 along the way. Hopefully, after a disappointing year last year, this is what the Bears are back to.

Editor's note: This is definitely my longest log ever. It has been updated at least once in each of the last five years irl. It has been updated in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and now 2016! :D

Dang, that's pretty sweet! And impressive too!

in hindsight the fact that ZeroGibson13 and MrKonami were the same person was pretty obvious. they always posted within about 5-10 minutes of each other. Zero was always the first to respond to any posts. and he always agreed with himself

I don't quite get the "business trip" part, was that just to give you some time to write some story updates and get the players made?

That was me giving myself time for the game to actually come to my house. I had it ordered but it had not got to my house yet.
