This will be my attempt at a season log, hope you guys like it
————————————————————————————————————————————————

"William! It's time for supper," my mom called to me while I was out playing catch with my dad in my big backyard.

"Can I just get a few more knuckleballs in Mom?"

"Come on Willie! I don't want your supper to get cold."

"Ok! I'm coming!" I said looking at my mom.

I bolted toward the house but there was an up sprinkler head that I tripped over.

Later in the emergency room...

"Haven't I told you to be careful where you are running Willie?" My mom said.

"Well, it's broken alright," the doctor said "and he won't play baseball for awhile.

3 months later

"Mom, time to go, time to go! I get my cast off today!" I screamed.

"Okay Willie, lets go!"

When we got to the hospital the doctor said that one of my tendons had healed the wrong way and I would have to have Tommy John surgery if I ever wanted to play ball again.

"What are we going to do Sandra?" My dad said to my mom.

"I don't know honey, it's always been Williams's lifelong dream to play high school baseball and I don't want to crush his dreams. I think he'll have to get the surgery.

"I think Will would want it anyway. But what happens if this surgery fails and screws up his arm for good?"

"His dream ends, but I trust Dr. Mahoney."

Well, I ended up having the surgery done and the next time I tried to throw a baseball I screamed in pain as my arm throbbed. I went to the hospital again this time to find out that my arm was screwed up for good. Thanks a lot Dr. Mahoney I thought to myself.

18 years later (October 2011)

Ring ring ring

I woke up to the sound of the house phone ringing.

"Katrina, can you answer that?" I asked my wife.

"It's someone named Kato, and it's for you," my wife's sweet voice passed my ear.

"Oh, hmm, Kato? Hello?"

"Hello sir, is this William Nathan?"

"Yes, it is, and who am I speaking to?"

"This is Ryozo Kato."

"No offense, but I've never heard of you."

"Have you ever been to Japan?"

"No, why?"

"Well sir, I heard you were one of the best kid baseball players of your time leading your team to the Little League World Series and beating Japan in the finals."

"Yes, that's true."

"I am the commissioner of the NPB, the Nippon Professional Baseball League! This year we are adding two teams to the league, the Sapporo Bears and the Kyoto Whalers. I am offering you a job to be the GM of the Sapporo Bears! How would you like to go to Japan with your wife, son, and daughter?"

"I'd love it! Thank you so much for the offer, but first I have to talk to Katrina about this."

"Take all the time you need."

"Katrina."

"Yes, Willie?"

"Can you speak Japanese?"

"I did take Japanese in high school, so yeah."

"Good, becuase I just got an offer to be the GM of a Japanese baseball team."

"That's great but what about Henry and Vanessa?"

"He said they had a big house for our whole family to live in."

"Oh! That's great!"

"Yes, I'll call him back!"

I went into my bedroom after the long day and picked up the phone and dialed Mr. Kato's number.

"Hello?" I heard in Kato's voice.

"Hello sir, this is William Nathan."

"Oh, Mr. Nathan, have you come to a conclusion yet?"

"We are coming to Japan!"

"Oh, that's great, we've got a home for you to stay in, and I'll be mailing you 4 plane tickets for Sapporo!"

"Thank you very much sir! I won't let you down thie season."

"I hope so."

"When is the flight Mr. Kato?"

"The flight is on Friday, so for you it's 4 days. That should give you plenty of time to pack your possessions."

"Yes, it will sir!"

"I'll see you in Sapporo!"

"Ok, Mr. Kato."

"When you get to Japan, when you finish unpacking, come directly to my office, I'll need to talk to you."

"Yes sir, goodbye!"

I went down to our living room and watched a short show about the NPB. I discovered a lot of things I didn't know about the NPB. There are 12 teams soon to be 14. The current teams:
Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks
Chunichi Dragons
Rakuten Golden Eagles
Hanshin Tigers
Chiba Lotte Marines
Yomiuri Giants
ORIX Buffaloes
Hiroshima Toyota Carp
Yokohama DeNa Bay Stars
Tokyo Yakult Swallows
Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters
Saitama Seibu Lions
Soon to be...
Sapporo Bears
Kyoto Whalers

I learned a lot about the NPB and then went to sleep before even starting to pack.

I woke up on Tuesday to the sound of my wife Katrina packing clothes. I got up and said "Why are you packing Katie?"

"We have to leave for our flight on Friday! We need to start packing."

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that."

Then I got up and woke up my son and daughter, my son Henry Johnathan Nathan is 6 years old and he had the same dream of playing pro baseball like me. My daughter Vanessa is 8 years old and is very beautiful.

"Daddy, why are we getting up so early?" My son Henry said.

"Becuase you have to start packing we are moving on Friday."

"We're moving? Why didn't anybody tell me about this?"

"Awm you're such a cute little guy Henry. Get up."

"Vanessa, time to wake up."

"But I don't wanna get up Daddy."

"You have to, you need to pack, we're moving."

"Where are we moving Daddy?"

"We are going to Japan so I can coach a baseball team."

"Isn't Japan in a different state?"

"Yes, it is a country."

After that conversation I went into my room to start packing for the trip to Japan.

Dallas/Fort Worth Airport 5:00 AM

As soon as we got to the airport my son and daughter flooded me with questions on how the flight would go. I explained that we first would have to get our boarding passes, then turn in our non-carry-on bags, then we would get ourselves checked and wait for the flight to board. They seemed really happy. The PA system person called over the PA system and said that they were starting to board the flight to Sapporo. It was 7:30 when we started to board.

8:00 AM Saturday, Sapporo

As soon as we got out of the airport, we had to go the the rent-a-car center to rent a car because our family car was being shipped from Dallas. We then drove to our hotel in our fresh smelling rent-a-car. When we got to the house it looked beautiful. It was basically a mansion compared to our old 1-story house. Vanessa and Henry immediately bolted toward the house. It had a swimming pool, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and it was 2 stories. I told my wife and kids that I'd have to go straight to Tokyo to talk to Mr. Kato.

"Goodbye William. I guess we'll see you tonight. I'm gonna put the kids to sleep, they probably have jet lag."

"Sounds good to me, I should be home by 9." It was currently 11 AM."

On my way driving to Tokyo I noticed a couple billboards in Sapporo and near Sapporo that were talking about me being the current celebrity in Sapporo. "Really?" I thought to myself. "I don't even know my neighbors yet. I bet Katie is making friends with them right now though."

I finally got to Tokyo and found my way to the NPB headquarters. There was a lady at the front desk that looked to be about 30 or so. Her name was Shizuka Honami. I went up to her.

"Excuse me Ma'am?"

"Oh yes sir?"

"I'm here to talk with Mr. Ryozo Kato."

"Oh, you must be William Nathan. Good to meet you, I am Shizuka Honami. I am Mr. Kato's desk manager. I'll let Mr. Kato know you're on your way up to his office."

"Ok, thank you Ma'am."

I was on my way up to Kato's office and I saw so many autographs engraved on the walls. There were names of NPB Hall of Famers and Hall of Fame coaches.

"Hello William!"

"Oh, hello Mr. Kato. What did you want to talk to me about?"

"You haven't met the owner yet have you?"

"No Sir."

"Here he is, say hello to Ryo Sakamoto. He will be your boss over the course of your GMmanship."

"Hello Mr. Sakamoto."

"Hello Mr. Nathan." Sakamoto said as he exited.

"Have you got to your home yet?" Mr. Kato said.

"Yes, I have it's beautiful. Mr. Sakamoto isn't very friendly is he?"

"He's not the most friendly but when you get to know him, you'll be good friends."

"That's good to know sir, what else did you want to talk to me about?"

"Have you started to assemble your scouting team and coaches yet?"

"No, I didn't know I was supposed to."

"You'll need to find a manager, a head scout, 3 other scouts, a hitting coach, a pitching coach, and a trade adviser."

"Ok, I'll start assembling right now."
————————————————————————————————————————————————

I'll need a head scout, 3 other scouts, a hitting coach, a pitching coach, and a trade adviser. The head scout will be able to make 1 to 5 players a year for the team while the other 3 scouts can make 1 player a year for me, so all the scouts will need to have JPPY. The pitching coach and hitting coach will tell me what each player needs to work on. The trade adviser will advise me on making trades.

I won't be able to start this log til December as I'm currently on a business trip away from my PS3.

Will you guys follow?

Ok, SkittleMonster, you're pitching coach.

@Anthony: I don't really care, when I left for my business trip I had just gotten '12 so I hadn't really been able to do any success modes yet. So when I get back, I'll have to make 50 players.

Sapporo, Japan, 4:00 PM, Monday

I decided to hold a manager meeting. I had researched 3 guys and here they were.

Sora Tanaka
Dontrelle Willis
Ramon Cabrera

The first guy I called into my new office in Sapporo was Sora Tanaka. Sora is 34 years old. Sora never had a baseball career but really wanted to.

"Hello, Mr. Tanaka. I'm Will Nathan, the GM of the Sapporo Bears."

"Oh, hello Mr. Nathan."

"So, why would you be a good manager for the team?"

"Well, first off, I think you should know that I was the hitting coach for the second-string team of the Yomiuri Giants back in '01 and '02. I coached guys like Shinnosuke Abe. I gave him a career."

"Well, you were 24 then? Wow you were young and you worked that much magic."

"It's not that much sir, I don't want to come off as a proud guy."

"Oh, but you are, if you can coach up a guy like Abe, then you deserve to ben a coach."

"Well, thank you Sir."

"So, I came here to get to know you and I might be offering you a managerial position for the Sapporo Bears!"

"Wow, thank you so much Sir! I promise I wouldn't let you down."

"You better not." I said sarcastically. "You may exit now, Mr. Tanaka."

Sora exited the room. Then the next posssible manager came into the room. A man by the name of Dontrelle Willis. Dontrelle had a great pitching career from 2002 to 2007 but started to dwindle in 2008 when he was dealt to the Tigers in the MLB. Dontrelle decided to retire from the MLB at the end of the 2011 season and now could possibly be getting a job in Japan.

"Hello Mr. Willis, I'm William Nathan."

"Hello, Mr. Nathan."

"So, what makes you a good manager?"

"Well, as a manager I would definitely think of pitching first. As you know I was a great pitcher back in America."

"Yes, Mr. Willis, I am aware."

"My style would be a 6-man dominant rotation."

"I definitely would agree with a dominant rotation but wouldn't  we need some batting too?"

"Yes, I was a pretty good hitting pitcher back in America, so I think highly of good hitting pitchers, like Matt Cain for example."

"You may exit Mr. Willis, thank you for your application."

"Thank you for your time Mr. Nathan."

As Dontrelle exited, I called in my last applicant, Ramon Cabrera. Ramon is 50 years old, and probably the most prestigious of the 3 applicants. Ramon was a manager in the Dominican Republic. His weakness, patience, that would definitely decrease team chemistry. That's the only thing I'm afraid of.

"Hello Mr. Cabrera, I'm William Nathan."

"Hello William."

"What makes you a good manager Mr. Cabrera?"

"Well, as you know, I was a very prestigious manager in the Dominican Republic. My die-hard baseball style will definitely give this team it's best chance to go all the way."

"Well, Mr. Cabrera, I definitely agree with that but I've heard you can be sort of impatient. Impatient enough to kick one of your players when they didn't do what you wanted?"

"Well, yes, kind of a reputation but that's in the past right?"

"Yes, thank you sir, you may leave."

"Goodbye Will."

Well, it looks like I'm going to need some time to think about this.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Who would you guys choose as the manager? Make you pick, and it'll be in poll-form.

So far
Tanaka 1 (Me)
Willis 0
Cabrera 0

If you edit te first post, there is a place where you can put polls. Put it there and it'll be easier
