I would like to bring a motion to the table. I'm not trying to create an advantage for myself, but I think it would be good for everyone: I propose that for next season, we increase the number of DL slots available to 2, up from the current 1 we have now.

With the prevalence of pitching injuries (and injuries in general) in MLB nowadays, it would make sense to have a second DL slot, just in case, since leaving an injured player on the bench really doesn't do a whole lot, especially if one of your better players has a day off that day.

Just a thought I think we should consider.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Especially if he immediately trades Marte to me for something of decent value.

Neither do I, he replaces Encarnacion with a hot bat in Juan Francisco, who hasn't shown any sign of slowing down and gets a very reliable outfielder who's just been cold as of late been great as of late and will help in the steals column in Allen Craig Starling Marte.

His outfield definitely isn't the greatest and this will help out for sure.

I thought it was Marte, not Craig, but either way, similar situation.

I have a feeling some big deals will start to get pulled off here - I'm both getting and sending offers to a few teams. Hopefully, something like last year's Pedroia/Lee-Posey deal gets done, but less complicated.

So, due to my confusion over the last two trades made by cbass, I consulted the interwebs about what to do in this situation. The consensus was to veto both the trades for the best of the league and his franchise, which was a steep departure from their usual opinions. However, I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'll allow these two trades to go through, but cbass has two strikes on him. That means that if another trade like this happens, I (or maybe a committee with a few others) reserve the right to judge all future cbass trades to keep things like this from happening again. With a team that has no chance of competing, you want to try and stockpile studs, not trade them all away.

In other words, cbass, just don't make more trades like this and everything will be fine. The CarGo-Reyes trade is literally nothing compared to these, and there was complete outcry over that one

I liked one trade and was on the fence on the other. I went with it anyway, probably should have vetoed.
