Blue Jays acquire RHP Scott Feldman from Astros for RHP Lupe Chavez

Giants acquire LHP Matt Moore from Rays for INF Matt Duffy, SS Lucius Fox, + RHP Michael Santos
Pirates acquire RHP Ivan Nova from Yankees for 2 PTBNL

Rangers acquire C Jonathan Lucroy + RHP Jeremy Jeffress from Brewers for CF Lewis Brinson, RHP Luis Ortiz, + 1 PTBNL
Dodgers acquire RHP Josh Fields from Astros for 1B Yordan Alvarez
Blue Jays acquire LHP Francisco Liriano from Pirates for RHP Drew Hutchison

Trades, presented in order by division, then team (of acquired player), with analysis

Orioles acquire INF/OF Steve Pearce from Rays for C Jonah Heim -- Pearce will provide depth at a number of positions for Baltimore. Heim is several years away from being anything of note, as he is currently hitting .220 in High-A as a 21-year-old.
Blue Jays acquire RHP Scott Feldman from Astros for RHP Lupe Chavez -- Feldman is a middle-relief depth piece for Toronto. Chavez is 18. Houston also gains some salary relief in this deal, as Feldman is being paid a total of $8M this season.
Blue Jays acquire LHP Francisco Liriano, C Reese McGuire, + OF Harold Ramirez from Pirates for RHP Drew Hutchison -- A swap of struggling starters. Possible that Liriano bumps Aaron Sanchez to the bullpen if Toronto wants to monitor his innings. [EDIT: JK the Blue Jays fleeced the Pirates, McGuire's a stud and Ramirez is apparently an uncoordinated klutz who still hits .300+]
Red Sox acquire LHP Fernando Abad from Twins for RHP Pat Light -- Abad is an upgrade over fellow lefty relievers Tommy Layne and Robbie Ross Jr. for Boston; Light was named Boston's #14 prospect and is close to ML-ready, having already made 2 appearances in the majors this season.

Indians acquire OF Brandon Guyer from Rays for OF Nathan Lukes + RHP Jhonleider Salinas -- Cleveland desperately needed another outfielder, and they got one in Guyer. Lukes and Salinas are both in Single-A, albeit performing fairly well and at a young age.
Twins acquire LHP Hector Santiago + RHP Alan Busenitz from Angels for RHPs Ricky Nolasco + Alex Meyer + cash -- I expected both Santiago and Nolasco to get traded, but not for each other... Twins get younger with Santiago (28), Angels finally get someone who might be considered a prospect in Meyer (26).

Rangers acquire OF Carlos Beltran + cash from Yankees for RHPs Dillon Tate, Nick Green, + Erik Swanson -- Beltran gives Texas another option in RF/at DH with Choo's health in doubt and Fielder's season over; the Yankees get three very young arms, including Tate, last year's #4 overall pick, who has struggled significantly this year.
Rangers acquire C Jonathan Lucroy + RHP Jeremy Jeffress from Brewers for CF Lewis Brinson, RHP Luis Ortiz, + 1 PTBNL -- Texas upgrades in the bullpen and behind the plate. Rangers' bullpen is no longer a liability with Claudio/Tolleson back in AAA; Chirinos will be a great backup C. For Milwaukee, this is a very good haul with Brinson possibly reaching the majors as early as 2017 -- he is a great defensive CF with solid power/speed combo as well. Ortiz was arguably Texas's top pitching prospect, he's a big dude who throws heat.

Mets acquire OF Jay Bruce from Reds for INF Dilson Herrera + LHP Max Wotell -- Bruce is a big addition for the Mets, an outfield of Bruce/Cespedes/Conforto/Granderson is pretty solid and with De Aza, Nimmo, Ruggiano, + Johnson as depth too... Herrera is a solid infield prospect, Wotell is only 19 and was a 3rd-round pick last year.
Mets acquire LHP Jonathon Niese from Pirates for LHP Antonio Bastardo + cash -- Niese bumps Logan Verrett from the rotation, Bastardo provides some lefty relief depth behind Tony Watson in the Pittsburgh 'pen... a simple win-win trade. Also allows the Pirates to give more starts to someone like Kuhl/Glasnow/Taillon.

Pirates acquire RHP Ivan Nova from Yankees for 2 PTBNL -- But this doesn't. Nova will allow the Pirates to keep guys like Kuhl/Glasnow/Taillon developing in the minors. They needed someone to offset the losses of Niese and Liriano, too.
Cubs acquire RHP Joe Smith from Angels for RHP Jesus Castillo -- Another good bullpen piece for the Cubs, who also acquired fireballer Aroldis Chapman recently. The Chicago bullpen is probably complete now with a back end of Chapman/Rondon/Smith, and Montgomery, Strop, Wood, Nathan, and Edwards Jr. in the middle innings.

Giants acquire LHP Will Smith from Brewers for RHP Phil Bickford + C Andrew Susac -- Smith is a good back-end piece for the Giants. The Brewers get a second solid haul in return with Bickford, who has a 2.73 ERA in 6 High-A starts and a 2.70 ERA in 11 Single-A starts, and Susac, who is a solid, near-MLB ready catching prospect.
Giants acquire LHP Matt Moore from Rays for INF Matt Duffy, SS Lucius Fox, + RHP Michael Santos -- Moore is a huge upgrade over either of the Giants' struggling veteran right-handers, Matt Cain and Jake Peavy, and will likely boot one of them from the rotation. Tampa Bay gets a solid haul in Duffy (.295 AVG in 2015, good defensive 3B), Fox (top prospect from last year's J2 international class), and Santos (2.91 ERA in 10 starts at Single-A).
Dodgers acquire LHP Rich Hill + OF Josh Reddick from Athletics for RHPs Grant Holmes, Frankie Montas, + Jharel Cotton -- LA takes a gamble on Hill's health, but with a bevy of injured starters (the list grows longer with last night's injury to Bud Norris), it's a risk worth taking. Reddick is a big upgrade in the Dodgers outfield, allowing LA to bump one of Howie Kendrick/Yasiel Puig from the lineup if they wish. All three pitchers are decent gets for Oakland, although Holmes is only 21 and in High-A, Cotton is viewed as a future reliever and has had durability issues, and Montas (part of last year's Todd Frazier trade) has struggled to stay healthy this season
Dodgers acquire RHP Jesse Chavez + cash from Blue Jays for RHP Mike Bolsinger -- boring depth move
Dodgers acquire RHP Josh Fields from Astros for 1B Yordan Alvarez -- boring depth move

Chime in with your thoughts below (even though no one cares and my opinion is the only one that matters)!

The A's aren't very good at this whole trading away above average players thing. They never actually get worthwhile prospects. The only one I see doing anything there is Holmes.

From Grant Brisbee:
Quote:
I’ll be careful with how this comes across, because the last time I made fun of the Mets’ outfield defense, they won the pennant. But this outfield defense is going to be incredible. Jay Bruce is somehow less valuable in the field than Matt Kemp, according to advanced statistics, and he’s going to a team without a centerfielder who can fly over and help him out, like Billy Hamilton. That’s a chunk of his value right there.
