Also, don't forget to set your keepers as well. Set mine just now.
Forgot to mention that. The limit for keepers is 5, and you must choose at least 3. If anyone forgets to pick their sleepers, they will be randomly chosen for you.

Zero picked a good rotation, but that's about it.

Anyways, I'm rocking my fantasy football team name.

I didn't make any draft selections, I wasn't there.

And my team still finished in 3rd.

I'd argue that both Tulo and Desmond are more valuable than any of his pitchers. I'm not sure if you'd want two SS's though

And Zero, you finished T-3rd. That's almost 6th :P

Who is Mike Trout??? He seems pretty good but I'm already keeping Alfonso Soriano, Brian Dozier, and Kevin Gregg.

I wouldn't bother with him actually. He's one of the worst players in baseball. I can take him off your hands though, I'll PM you.

Anyone else gonna vote? It only takes one more vote for it to be this Saturday.

NOTICE: Keepers are due by midnight tonight. I'd suggest everyone check in and make sure everything looks right.

I can't wait for the draft.

so far I'm interested by Matty only having 3 keepers and Jason Kipnis being kept. Otherwise the keepers seem fine.

but I think the former is because mac can't make the draft.

Same here man. As such, I'm gonna give a bunch of rules, guidelines, and tips for the league.

1. Stats are compiled all season. As such, you need to stay active all year to keep up. If, at any point, you stop checking in, you will lose.
2. Know the league benchmarks. In roto, you'll want to be consistent across the board. A good way to know if you're on the right track is to check how many of each stat you'll need to score at least 7-8 points in a given category.. Last year those stats were, about, 1000 R, 275 HR, 1000 RBI, 150 SB, .275 AVG, 1300 K, 90 W, 115 SV, 3.35 ERA, and 1.15 WHIP. If you can meet or exceed most (or all) of those numbers, you'll be in very, very good shape.
3. Know the starts cap. In this league, there is a maximum of 200 pitcher starts. This is to avoid excess streaming throughout the year. Last year, only four teams hit the cap, so it shouldn't be too hard to avoid.
4. Any returning members can not change their name. I mean, technically you can, but you really shouldn't. This is just a little thing, but it helps to show that it's the same team from year to year. New members can theoretically change their name as many times as they want, but there really isn't any point to that.
5. Know position scarcity. SS and 3B are looked at as being the weakest positions, both in terms of depth and talent. You'll probably want only one each to fill your starter spots, and then use 1B/2B for your corner and middle infield spots.
6. The draft isn't everything. Sure, the draft is really fun, but you can still win even if you not there. Last year, four teams weren't there for the draft, and they finished 2nd, T-3rd (3rd), T-3rd (4th), and 9th. Also, get don't too attached to your players. Only 13 of the guys are drafted will still around at years end. That's very normal.
7. Don't overpay for closers. The position is very volatile during the season, and will change rapidly. I mean, who expected Uehara to have one of the best seasons for a reliever ever? Players will lose their jobs, and new guys we've never heard of will be in position to rack up saves.

There were a lot of oddities I saw. The two things you mentioned actually seemed pretty normal. Mac's team has no talent at all, and Kipnis is ranked as the second best 2B. I held off mentioning anything because I didn't want to alter anyone's strategy, but I suppose I can mention some things now.

*Acemaker left 4 top-20 players on the board (CarGo, Ellsbury, the other CarGo, and Votto.
*Dish picking Machado over Wainwright. Usually I'd be against choosing three pitchers as keeper, but when those three are the three best in the league, it would be understandable.
*AgentP choosing Holland over Lee. However, his keepers are still pretty solid regardless
*D-Tigers choosing Ryu over Harper, despite Harper being ranked over 100 slots higher

Those are the four main ones that confused me. Both Phillies and Prediction had things I would have done differently, and PPJ, PP27, and mac made nearly perfect decisions.

My thinking in dropping Wainwright has nothing to do with my dislike of the Cardinals. It's more about potentially making the draft pool a little more talented at the time. Since I didn't know who anyone else would not keep, I decided to not keep him and drop him into the draft.

Plus, I actually switched out his spot with Werth, not Machado, but it's hard to see that, so I understand the confusion. Plus, I've never really been in a league that had more than 1 season of history, so I haven't done keepers that often.

I was actually aware of that. But since I see Werth as more valuable than Machado, I used him as the comparison.
